aw, i really appreciate the honesty. i do want to see what happens tomorrow, though, as darla has not yet met agnes...maybe agnes will give pearl someone to pal around with.

If Pearl seems unhappy with the new order, then yes, it will have to be darla, considering things were totally fine the past two days without her. i know ron will give her a really good home, im just letting darla play mind games with me i guess, lol. yikes.

Sounds like a plan.

OK, here they are! First one is the run and coop. The coop is 4x8 and has a skylight in it. The run is 8x16 and has wire all the way around, even over the top.

Coop rear with cleaning access.

And now the one's you've all been waiting for

- the girls (well, those that would hold still

) enjoying one of their favorite treats - some tomato innards.

Dominique (left) and Queen Latifah (right) - black sex links.

The larger RIR (on the left) is Rosie - she is the alpha. On the extreme right (you can just see her butt) is my favorite, a BO I call Twiggy 'cause she is the smallest. But full of spunk! When I give them meal worm treats, she is the fastest at snatching them out of my hand, and takes off running with Rosie or Dominique chasing her

I think Darla will fit in just fine!

We call it the Chick-Mahal - the ultimate henhouse! We are thinking of pitching a new reality TV show to RFD-TV - Pimp My Henhouse! What do you think - an instant hit?

aubreynoramarie in my world view its a natural thang fer a critter lover to git their heart strings all knot'id up ov'r critter decisions
....if it aint natural then we both need our bubbles adjusted.

aubreynoramarie, If you are being to human then you are in good company. I think most people are in that group like it or not.
I have had the sort of problems you are talking about and had to do both. Just give them time to work it out and completely get rid of one bird.
keeping them so they can see each other but not get to each other works most of the time. I am always introducing new birds to my older birds and always do it that way.
In one case I had a Roo that was getting rougher and rougher with one of my pullets every day. I removed her and her companion pullet. a few days later I tried to put the companion back with the Roo and he set right in at her. He is now gone. And no it was not an easy decision but it had to happen in order to have a happy flock. And no I did not kill him I gave him away.
I think you should try some different ideas before you give up. Darla may just be fixated and a bit of time in close proximity but unable to pluck may very well work in breaking that fixation.

Hello everybody and happy hump day. I see that you guys have been chatty again.

Yes, I do think that is more fun, and that color is just with those 2 breeds. Sorry for not responding sooner but I haven't been on the computer. My wife wanted different birds so I hatched out NHR, RIR, BO, EE, RIW, BR, EE, cochin, Delaware, Welsummer, various bantam, Silkie, sebrights, Appenzellar Spitzhauben, Mille Fleur D'Uccle, polish, leghorns, hamburgs, marans, penedesenca, kraienkoppe, Lakenvelder, light Brahma, sumatra, wyandottes, blue andalusians, olive eggers, and more. In fact several of those breeds I did different varieties of like the Marans in black copper, blue copper, cuckoo, splash, and white. I traded away a lot of the white egg laying breeds and some of the breeds only gave me roos but we still have a pretty colorful and varied flock.
