Hey Sunny I was just planning to tear out all the barbed wire here. I've had to cut mustangs out of it twice now. What do you want it for? and how much would you like?
OMG that would be so cool! What I need it for is building earthen walls. You take long tubes and fill them with earth, a little cement etc. and then wind them back and forth (or round and round for a bldg), sprinkle with water, place barbed wire between the layers, then repeat. I want short walls to terrace a garden area on the berm that the majority of our windows look out onto.

It's a rental so I don't want to put much money or time into these walls but I still want something decent looking that I would be proud to pass on to the next family that loves here. Earthen walls are cheap and easy to do. Terracing is also a great way to garden and to prevent erosion from washing mud down on the house we are in. They cut into the hillside to build this home but did not put in a retaining wall to stop the mudflow from the hillside washing onto the house during heavy rains. This has already been a problem a few times here and they haven't had a really bad gully washer yet (the house is only 6 years old).

We can leave the wall untreated and it will slowly wash away or we can cover it with cement or some other type of sealent and it will last for many, many years. When I was studying this was when I came across the earthen heat exchangers that Daniel (Penturner) was talking about a couple of months ago.

What I am doing is a super simple form of the technology called Superadobe. Here is a link to a website that explains it well and has some great photos...

LOL!!! It's not always that many, and it has crashed on me when I try to quote 2 or 3 posts too. Besides when I have had problems I almost always hear from others that had the same thing happen at the same time so it definitely looks like a sitewide thing. Never lasts for long though.

Wow, that makes me wonder how it does with just a large snowmelt in spring.
