Nevadans?

I looked for Houdans and sultans at the last poultry show in Stockton but didn't find any. I have sworn off chicks and eggs especially after a few got sick this year, if have to cull all the roosters which I just can't do. BTW just so everyone knows mark has cut me off sinse I told him were bringing home a pair of Elizabeth's birds

Yeah, Russ hasn't put the ultimatum on me yet. He actually willingly drove me to get Pot and Pie, and he sounded excited when I told him I might try for ONE Polish for him next year. But I think the eye-rolling is indicative that I'm close to my limit as well.

Ha ha, My husband is not as supportive now that we have a neighbor breathing done our backs. He's making comments like, "they really are too loud" and I'm thinking, "now who's side are you on???" And then he's mad about all the flies. I do have one of the fly traps you fill with water but I haven't put it up yet. I am the worst procrastinator. There are just too many things on my list right now.

I'm so happy that aubrey will take two of my favorite girls. I really don't want to get rid of them but I feel better knowing exactly who will be taking them.

So despite my greatest efforts, I do have a sinus infection. I decided to go to urgent care yesterday while the kids were at soccer practice with jose. I hate taking antibiotics but when it hangs on for a month, I just have to give in. Now my gut will be a mess again. Did some research and there is a specific probiotic to take that can survive antibiotics and help reduce the gut symptoms that come from taking antibiotics. Have to see if I can find some.

I love soup, too! That's one of the things I look forward to in fall and winter when it's cool enough to really enjoy soup.

thanks for the work on the nevada resource page, sunny and ron and anyone else who contributed! I don't know of any other sources as of yet but when I have a little down time I will take a look and see if I think of anything to add.

Elizabeth, are any of those S. Thermophilus, Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, or Lactobacillus Casei? If so, I can help you save a LOT of money!

I'm so aware of flies. I told Russ yesterday that I need a new rake to clean up the yard and keep things dry. He used my last one to poke logs in the bbq pit. Seriously??? Out of all the broken sticks around here, you have to use my rake? It wasn't a good rake, but still... Anyway, yeah I need to put up fly traps and get a new rake.

Yesterday, while Sahara was walking to school with one of her favorite chickens, another mom struck up a conversation about a friend of hers whose neighbors have roosters. She said the neighbors live on (a street 2 blocks down from Aubrey.) I said, "I think I know who that is." But no, she said the were on (specific street,) not (Aubrey's street.) So if you're going to have loud chickens, apparently that's the right neighborhood. There are so many chickens in this neighborhood, but very few roosters. I never hear any of them.

I think it helps that our yards are so big and that half the population over here is college kids. But holy mOly! I HOPE she's not hearing our Roos and thinking its someone else! LOL! If they can hear me two blocks down I'm in big trouble. I have to go for a walk Saturday morning and listen for other roosters ;)

It was the street 2 blocks downhill from yours, the big well-known one that crosses with the other well-known north/south one. (I think I'm just sounding really awkward trying not to reveal where you live on an internet board.)

This area we live in is full of chickens. Sunny once lived just a hop, skip and a jump from us and we didn't even know it. I never heard her roosters, we always heard someone elses rooster though. Leroy crows here and there. Some days though he will crow a lot but most days he just dilly dally's along.

I think one of you need to get me a Goose for Christmas. If its a gift then it would be rude to not accept it, right?!?

Haha it's alright it's no secret. You can actually see kings row from our backyard. In fact, the houses behind us are ON kings row because the street between kings row and mine is just a coldesac. Kings row is a pretty loud street and maybe it helps muffle the rooster noises. Still nice to know someone over there has roosters too!!!! Someways the boys literally annoy the crud out of me so I wonder what the neighbors think. We really only keep them for coon protection

Does that mean I can give you Mo for letting me borrowing your incubator? He's super quiet too!

I'm thinking next year when I hatch out the BLRW you should get one of the roosters to help you with those coons. Leroy is the best rooster I've ever had, of course I've only had one a long time ago in California but Leroy beats that one by far!
