Nevadans?

well I didnt want to risk the baby getting sick so mark and i decided to pry apart the deck and find the nest. We were able to catch the spitting screaming hell-broke-loose mother bird and found another brand new hatched baby under her! yikes! We moved her and the babies into the garage in a little "secret room" that we have...and yes i didnt have the heart to throw away the rest of the eggs so we moved the other TEN eggs she was sitting on with her. Sheesh i was NOT expecting this. Remember when i said i wanted one or two more chickens? SHEESH!! Also remember when i said NO MORE CHICKS??!?!. This was really unexpected!!! ghah! Ah well they are EXTREMELY fluffy and adorable.

Sooo...in about six months who wants some nice delicious porkchop roosters for dinner?!?!?

Elizabeth if i tell myself they are all roosters then i will be prepared for them to all be roosters, right?!?! hahaha

Did some more harvesting today. I got almost 15 lbs. of potatoes from just two plants!

Beauties, eh? Guess what I'll be having for dinner! And for dessert:

I've got two more like it that aren't quite ready yet. But this one smells wonderful - I can't wait to taste it!

Wow, good job on having some awesome soil!!! We didn't get that kind of turnout, but most were planted in Garden #2 with its horrid soil. All of my canning refuse, though, gets toted over there and buried in the dirt.

BTW Missy how did Russ do in the Tough Mudder? And Pam - how did your daughter do?

He finished with no injuries and no heart attacks! A couple of the 20-something team members got hurt, but he did almost all of the obstacles with no problem. He skipped the Arctic Enema (swimming through ice water) on the request of me and his teammates. And by the time he got to the obstacle with the monkey bars over the muddy water, his arthritic hands couldn't make a fist, so he just did a cannonball into the water and swam across.

If they feel light they are usually not developed. From my experience, mom doesn't stay on the eggs, except at night if you move them. Hope you get a couple more...since you don't want anymore and all! LOL
