Nevadans?

Heres one:
Last night I dreamed of chickens,
there were chickens everywhere,
they were standing on my stomach,
they were nesting in my hair,
they were pecking at my pillow,
they were hopping on my head,
they were ruffling up their feathers
as they raced about my bed.
They were on the chairs and tables,
they were on the chandeliers,
they were roosting in the corners,
they were clucking in my ears,
there were chickens, chickens, chickens
for as far as I could see...
when I woke today, I noticed
there were eggs on top of me.

Yeah no kidding! I just woke up from a dream about chickens. (I'm sick not lazy, lol.) And I went outside to see who wouldn't shut up. There was an egg in the nest so big the carton won't close... it might be a triple yolker. And it's the same color as my faverolles eggs, and they lay medium size. Poor girl!

Love that one! A motto to live by these days for sure!
Cute. If I'd had my way as a kid this is how my room would have been. I was always trying to sneak chickens into my room. Unlike Missy's Mom, however, I always got caught. My Mom could smell chicken poo a mile away.

Ran across this little poem - thought you all would appreciate it!

The codfish lays a thousand eggs
the homely hen but one.
The codfish never cackles
to tell you what she’s done.
And so we scorn the codfish
while the humble hen we prize,
Which only goes to show you
that it pays to advertise.

Love them! so cute!

I agree with Ron. It won't look tacky at all! It will be amazing and it will be something no one else has done! Well not that I know of anyway. Don't forget to let us help Aubrey! One thing I learned after doing hundreds of weddings is that EVERY bride takes on too much and often the bride and the bride's mother end up sick the day of the big event because of it. So let us help!!! We love you and it will be a great honor to be able to help you get ready for the big event!!!!!

These poems are great!
Haven't contributed in a while so this thread was WAY at the BOTTOM of my list. Need to move it up.

GOOD! I'm not much good at the hauling chairs and tables stuff but I'll bring Steve along for that. I can spray paint with the best of 'em though. :) I used to be a florist. Did weddings for a living but my back can't do those big jobs anymore without help. :(

Any other fans of The Walking Dead here? I took a forced day off today. Meaning I got so sick it knocked me on my butt and I only got off it long enough to check on the chickens 3 times today. So I lounged on the couch and streamed season 2 of The Walking Dead today. Then went out to feed the chickens. I came out of the garden and closed the gate behind me with a bowl of feed in my hand, then turned around and saw 20 birds milling around hungrily, speaking in moaning chirps. They followed me around the yard, staring up at me and making hungry noises. It's the poultry zombie apocalypse.

I got home from work last night about 11:30 and as usual Mille needed to go out. While we were in the backyard I heard the noise of a raccoon. I told Mille to go back in the house and she did. I stayed outside watching for them. There was one in the willow tree and another one in the garden. I walked towards the garden and the dang thing growled at me. I never got to actually see it because it was so dark so I walked backwards and went back into the house. I figured if it was growling then I don't need to be near it. It made for a long night though. I hate raccoons. I'm very grateful the coop is up to par and ready for them.
