Nevadans?

I had to thaw a duck out today.

We have to replace the pop door, and I needed a can of primer that was frozen to a table outside. Russ took hot water to thaw it out, and the hot water ran on the patio. One of the ducks immediately started splashing and rolling in it. A few minutes later, I noticed that she couldn't get up from a different section of the patio that had a thick layer of ice. The water had frozen her chest to the ice. Luckily I found her right away, because she was pulling quite a few feathers out trying to get up. I wrapped her in a towel, then poured warm water under her until she was free. She got all dried off before she went back outside again.

ugh i thought i posted earlier but it never took i guess

I said Sunny I will get on posting those soups now that its good and cold out...as the duck well knows...

Oh my goodness! The poor thing. They say the WH's are the dumbest of all ducks but from what I've seen of these ducks I don't believe them at all.

I do believe we would need to do Quality Assurance first and would need to taste them before they could be put up!

Mine don't act dumb at all. Dumpling (the survivor of the 3 you hatched for my friend) is living with me now, and in two days she figured out that the back door equals dog food. So she stands out there and quacks for me, mostly because I throw her a handful to make her be quiet. She's also within 30 feet of the neighbor's window, at that spot.

But as smart as they are... if kids can't figure out why you shouldn't lick a flagpole, I'm sure Curry had no idea that wet ducks shouldn't lie on a bed of ice in 15-degree weather.

Poor girl! Good thing you found her right away.

YUM! I've been hoping you would say that!
Sunny - Not sure what the problem is with the link on the post? I keep getting the same message:

There seems to be a problem!

Shoot! I have no idea why it not working! It takes me right there when I click on it. Wait I think I may know why... I'll check it and get back to you.

Good point!

LOL. I realized what I did now. I copied the link while I was still in edit mode so of course it wouldn't let anyone not listed as an editor in. It works now. I made sure that I changed all the links to the correct url. Including the links in my signature.
