Nevadans?

I will definitely give blueberries a shot! Thanks!

if it isn't marecks, is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening? I've read two different sides to giving vaccinations when they're Afew weeks old.. Or should I just hurry and order a turkey?! :) I definitely would prefer to not have this happen in the future, as just the one chick has had me so worried .
Again, thanks for all the advice, and making me feel welcome :)

Candice! Enjoy your stay!

It sounds like your little chickie just had a leg injury and it's healing. I believe you're correct about the wasting away part. It sounds like you are doing the right things and it'll be fine.

Well now that the basic crisis has past can we get some information about you, your location, your coop. Also we have only seen on of your chicks

My amuracuana hen is sitting on some batam Colombian bantam rocks from Julie. They will go back when they hatch but wish me luck they are on 5 days

Got home and my silkie chick was dead :( extremely strange after how he acted all day yesterday.
Going to keep an eye on the other and hope it's not mareks :( is it normal for chicks to have it when the breeder says hers don't? They've only been in my house since the post office. :(

Jeez! Me too Ron! Weird thing is I got notifications from the other threads I'm subscribed to. Just thought you were all busy and no one was posting.

Hey everyone! New to Back Yard Chicken, living ing Ely, NV with silkie chicks :)

Hi Candice. Sorry your chickie was sick. Glad he's feeling better now. I wish I had some advice for you but I haven't had any of these issues except the slipped tendon thing and I had to put that poor girl down cause she was in so much pain and it didn't get better.

So sorry about your chick! That stinks. I wish I knew something about mareks. Maybe check in on the emergency/illness area of BYC?

Another one of my white silkies (4wks) seems less energetic tonight... At this point I'm expecting the worst :/

If anyone you breed silkies or Easter egger bantams, I may be interested in purchasing and picking them up in the near future.. It even any mareks vaccinated bantam hens.
