Well, we got the coop,put together for the most part today. The girls are still,in the brooder but at least we will be ready for them when they get bigger. They are so fun to watch! Their personalities are starting to show as they'd get more comfortable with us.

That is all the fur she pulled!?!? When my methods kindle it looks like they exploded and you cant see the babaies you have to dig around to find them.

My first hatch ever is this weekend wish me luck!

Haha no. She's pulled so much fur she's got bald spots. I took a lot of hair out after she kindled and I cleaned the box

Hi Everyone, I finally joined BYC! I've been visiting BYC for about five years now.....so I figured it's about time I get my own profile! I love my Chickens you could l also say...obsessed, and addicted to them! I would like to get a few Jersey Giants chicks....does any one know of a breeder in the Elko, Wells NV area or the surrounding area....I'd much rather buy my babies from a local breeder, but will order from a hatchery if it comes down to it! Thanks!

Theirs not to many breeders in elko, you would be better off finding someone with Jersey Giants and buy fertilized eggs from them. Sadly I dont have Jersies

I would like to get modesto milling products to elko in kind of a co-op but the interest level up here is not that good.

I finally found the link to the chicken diapers. The only thing is I changed them a little from the way I learned them on line. I added strips of material on the elastic that goes around the wings and legs to make a ruffle that looks like a pinafore. Also for silkies I use snaps on the back instead of Velcro because of their fluffy feathers (might pull them out). Here is the link to the diapers. http://www.squidoo.com/housechickens. When you get on the website go on Chickens as House Pets. Scroll down for a long way and you will see a video of How to Make Chicken Diapers. You can get the basic from her and then do your own creations. That is what I do. I even have one with a big bow in the back. For Halloween I made her a black with white skills all over it. I made the material on her elastic real long so it looked like a cape and like she was flying. The grandkids loved it.

Rough start on my 2013 breedings. First none of my American Sable does were taking, then my Britannia Petite doe wouldn't get bred. Finally got one of my Sable does bred then her whole litter froze then she died (it was my seal doe I imported from Canada) found out my Petite buck was missing some very important boy parts. Finally Sunday brought an end to my bad luck getting babies. I had two Sable litters born 7 minus 2 DOAs in one litter 4 born on the wire floor the other litter. Monday I come home from work to a litter of 8 minus the one DOA. I'm picking up my new Petite buck at West Coast Classic in May along with a newly accepted broken doe

Oh I'm so sorry about your losses! How horrible that must have been. But congrats on all the adorable babies you have now! That's awesome.

Well Missy came over for 2 days and helped me get the hoop house end panels done. She is seriously talented and the panels look fantastic and very sturdy! I'm taking pics of the progress and will post them all together when we are done. I am so excited with the progress! Usually these projects take 5 times longer than I expect but this time we got an amazing amount of work done!!!

I got my greenhouse done today! It only took 3 hours... a much smaller scale operation than Sunny's. I added a convection heating section this year.




And my darling bald daughter...
