Nevadans?

What are your bantams? I have started pullets for sale if you want to have hens this winter. 2 RIR, a SLW, and a couple more that just started laying in December.

Hi..... So, now I'm not sure if I want to get rid of my bantams. I'm really undecided. I know I want bigger chickens.... I'm looking at buying some chicks locally from a feed store I like, and maybe trying to hatch some eggs ..... Neighbors have RIRs I think so I'm going to get some eggs from them maybe in a week or so..... We shall see!!!!

The reason I'm not sure if now I want to get rid of my bantams is that a coyote came in yesterday and killed at least 5 of my flock.... my 2 roosters and 3 hens!!!!! :- I'm beyond sad about that right now, and am trying to hold myself back from just bringing them all inside. hahaha

The pullets you have.... How old are they? I may be interested in them.... what are SLW? I'm still new at this.

Oh no! Sorry about your chickens! I've lost 3 in the last month to a hawk. Good learning experience for my flock because now they are extra vigilant. 2 were 5 week old chicks, and one silkie. Makes me mad every time I see a hawk near my yard now. Jerks. Lol

I have 5 1/2 to 6 month old RIRs, and a silver laced Wyandotte who just started laying in the last few weeks. I also have a few older pullets available. (7 1/2 months old) We sell them to people who don't want to go through the chick stage and people starting flocks generally. We are working our flock towards being only Marans, pure ameracaunas, and orpingtons.

I'm sorry about that coyote. Sorry you lost so many!

You just need to secure the bottom of your fences so he can't dig and come underneath them and/or make them tall enough he can't jump over them.

They got in because the gate to the garden area that they will roam in was left open..... Normally when we're gone all day we shut it, but..... not this day...... :-(

I have to get an area set up for some larger chickens to be in before I can get more.... I'm hoping to get some done this weekend, so we shall see. When I'm more ready, I'll let ya'll know. Thanks for the well wishes! I'm not really breed specific.... I want some pretty hens, but will take anything. It will be a mix of layers and food chickens that we'll be raising.....
