Nevadans?

Her house is about 60' from mine, she sits in an upstairs room with the light out and apparently watches and listens to everything going on in my yard and in my house. I don't care about her videotaping my yard, all she will do is ruin her case because she can't catch my dogs barking for more than a few seconds, but one thing she reported really bothers me and I think it borders on stalking, she reported that my dogs were fighting inside my house and that they stressed out my bird. Well my dogs don't fight they wrestle like most dogs do and my bird, she's a 30 year old African Grey and if the dogs stressed her out she would probably just fly over to them and bite them on the nose lol. But the idea that this woman is sitting in her bedroom peering into my house, that bothers me a great deal.

I read your initial post some days back and have been through this with two friends. Both cases ended up in court. I have a question for you. You havent mentioned where your dogs are during the day and whether they have access to the yard to freely bark or what breed they are. As a dog trainer of 25 plus years and someone who did dog rescue for 10, barking dogs absolutely drive me insane. There are dogs that live behind me and are barking right now and they bark the ENTIRE TIME they are outside. The only reason I stopped complaining about them was when I got hens and since they now perform their egg song, I figured it was an exchange of sorts. I just dont understand why these neighbors are not bothered by the insistent barking and noise these dogs make. Why should the neighborhood have to listen to it esp me I live right behind them.

I dont mean to sound insensitive but I can tell you both friends partially created what happened to them. One ran a rescue and had a gazillion animals at her house and some other things that she was cited for. Although when it came time to step up and clean up her act, she did. By then however the neighbor from hell was already on the warpath. The second friend raises and shows dogs. Has a license etc etc but Im sure the dogs barked because they were outside part of the day.

I would recommend an attorney to ask them to file a complaint for harassment against the neighbor. You and the other neighbor can each pay their share. Sometimes just having an attorney quiets things a bit because now a neighbor knows your no longer kidding around and if they want to push, you can too.

It's a fair question. I have two neutered male labradoodles. They have had access to our deck through a doggy door since they were puppies, they are now 3 and 4 years old. They spend most of their time in the house though. They bark occasionally, but they don't bark often or for very long. I could not stand it if they did. Until this woman complained, if we were in another part of the house and heard them, we might let them bark for a minute and then we would go call them in. If they didn't come in we went out and brought them in. Since this started we have worked with our trainer and they now come in the instant we call them (that took a lot of treats, believe me!) and we call them in as soon as we hear them and get to the door, my guess is that the very longest they have barked at one time in the past 3 months is 3-8 seconds, on the average twice a day- and never at night. I'm home about 90% of the time, when we go out the dogs are locked in the house and drapes are closed on all the windows where they might be tempted to bark at a passerby. Last night there were coyote howling and barking from the canyon below us, the dogs didn't even go outside to investigate.. I got that all on the surveillance video/audio, I only wish I had put this system in when she started complaining

So, here are my chickens.... The red ones are the 2 newest confirmed roosters. They liked getting their pictures taken, as some of them were really hamming it up for the camera!

The golden one is Bertha (orphington from my dad).

So below, is Bertha in the background with one of my red/roosters. Still working on names.

Below again is one of the roosters next to one of my other hens.

Last one is showing basically the size difference between my bantums and my rooster. Both of my newest confirmed roosters are the same size. In this pic, my newest confirmed rooster is on the left, with one of my bantum roosters on the right. The bantum rooster is a bit bigger than most of the bantum hens, but it gives you an idea of size disparity.
