Nevadans?

So true. Healthy addiction! Lol! The projects can just keep adding up. Just ask my husband. As long as I can get a couple hours a week from him, and a couple on weekends, I'm thrilled. We're redoing our coops and yards...and feeding system, so he had a lot going. Once it's all done though it'll make our lives so much easier. Especially this winter. :)

Our first egg has been laid!! My golden sex link (Lucy) has had the honor of being the first to start earning her keep. I'm so proud. I just wish the other 3 would get into gear. I've been so busy this summer that it really surprised me when they started looking all grown up. My barred rock has been squatting for about 2 weeks now but no eggs. Anyways, just wanted to share!!! :)

Molly, how big is your new chicken house? Did you get it done? How many rooms does it have? Is there anything you would change about it? I have drawn out the plans and have gotten my husband to start a new chicken house for me

We cut down the trees this morning where it is going. It will be 10 x 20 feet and have four 5x10 ft rooms. One as a feed and chick room and the other 3 as separate rooms for two groups of W/BW Ameraucanas and one group of GCMs. I will still have the 10x10 chicken house with the kennel runs for my bantams.

Have anymore of the girls started laying yet?

Good morning! We're just slowly working on the new runs, but the covered part is totally done. Wahoo! We did two 8x10 sheds. Our old ones are 10x10 and 8x6.

Your new setup will be amazing. I probably should've done smaller areas, but I'm not doing projects like you are. Someday. Lol. As long as we do a little bit and keep making progress on top of everything else we have going on, I'm happy. The new coops are looking great though. For now, one is being used as a broody house, and the other has a bunch of teenagers and your OEs locked in with our hoop coop as a yard so they learn where to lay since we don't lock them up. With my dogs out and the windows open all night, I haven't been locking anything. I'm just glad we're away from the river so we don't really have any predators besides hawks and coyotes.

Covered part of yard, plastic covered inside for easy cleaning, and a couple of your babies. (3 OEs for sure are laying now with the brahma in the new coop. :) So pretty. )

Part corrugated metal and part shade cloth with corrugated plastic over it to seal everything.
