Good luck with your AP classes! Hopefully you get all the good teachers. I know what you mean about emotional Moms. My Mom is that way and I am not. I've gotten used to it over the years but sometimes it still makes me uncomfortable. I've learned that she won't like the humorous cards for special events near as much as the sappy ones so I buy super mushy ones for Mom and save the funny ones for everyone else.

Welcome to the Nevada thread saym!

aubreynoramarie I have no experience with Wyandottes but I know there's a Wyandotte thread here on BYC somewhere.

Holly sounds like your son is a lot like mine were at that age. I won't scare you with stories of teenagehood. All in all the kids are good kids so I just keep my fingers crossed for them. Grandkids are the best though!!!

As far as the Wii games, those are the most fun for 2 people to play and the games do help us get up off of our feet. Wii sports is my favorite. He's probably just heard you say how bad sitting in front of video games for too long is...

hmm, well theyre really far away anyways...but ive been looking at pics and drooling over them now. i must have a blue hen

oh neat! Horsefeatherz have you got any blue orps? i talked to the woman who sold me my barred rock and shes got some buff orps. i think im gonna get one and it would be really neat to have a blue and a buff!

well, seems like everyone is off enjoying themselves for the holiday weekend! fun!

anywhoo, i just wanted to hit you guys up and give everyone on here first dibs on my silkie roo. he is not crowing yet and he is very very sweet . I'm also going to be giving away darla the e.e. as a "companion" to help with flock integration. lol, they will have eachother. this way i can buy two new hens and hopefully that will make introductions go smoothly. Im already looking into a year old leghorn out past gardnerville, and a possible buff orp as well.

just wanted to see if anyone from here wanted them before i posted them onto craigslist. theyre free to you guys, but im charging a few bucks once i put em up on cl.
thanks

so i just brought home my new buff orp hen, and she miraculously managed to escape from my barrier in the pen within two minutes of her being here. there was a full on chicken BRAWL
barnie.gif
SHE DIDNT JUST SIT THERE AND LET MY GIRLS PULL HER FEATHERS OUT, SHE FOUGHT BACK, IT WAS INSANE! AND GUESS WHO TOOK CHARGE AND STARTED THE WHOLE THING? YEP, IT WAS PEARL THE SILKIE, ALTHOUGH LUCY THE NHR (WHOS GENDER I AM ALSO QUESTIONING (haha, sorry, i just looked up from the keyboard and saw that caps was on..)) lucy, well im thinking she might be male too. those waddles are getting pretty big, and she never bok boks anymore, just screetches....oh gosh, now im running on ...

anywho, it didnt work out with the leghorn SOOO, i was wondering if anyone had anything white for sale. you know, something puffy and cute with a nice red comb. or any ideas of breeds like that would be awesome.

hope everyone is having fun...boy im talkative this weekend, haha

Try PMing her. She's more likely to see that and respond. Yes we have had a busy but fun weekend! Went to the Rib Fest and YUUUUMM! The last two years we were a little disappointed with our choices but this year! De-lish!

Aubrey, sorry your chickens are not integrating well. It is easier to add 2 new chickens at the same time rather than to try and insert a single bird. I've only tried introducing a single bird once, and it was one of Genny's Blue Orp crosses and she shocked me by fitting in immediately with no problems of any kind!

Good luck on finding a couple of good white hens for your flock. I have some Delawares that are just starting to lay that have been very friendly and cute too.

They are not pure white though. They have some black tail feathers and some black spotting/ticking on the hackle feathers. You might try looking for some Dels.

yeah im pretty sure that once i find another hen it will be much easier introducing the two. i learned that with the silkie. plus im sure that once darla and pearl are gone, and the introductions are two on two instead of one on four itll help as well. at least this time around i know to expect some being picked on.

wow yes, i never heard of delawares. they are really very pretty. its just kind of hard to find a single hen at a certain age of the breed you want in this town. you wouldnt be interested in selling one of your birds, would you?
