You crack me up Peeps! And you're making me hungry! I don't know why but your cat comment reminded me of an article I was reading on the favored foods in Ecuador. How does Guinea Pig sound? Yep they roast 'em all the time there. Doesn't sound good? How about Bull P... (ok let's substitute the word "johnson" here instead) soup? IDK, it might be pretty good. I've never tried it.

DH and I want to take our next vacation there so I wanted to read up on the local fare. I think I'll stick to the coast and try their seafood dishes which are traditionally cooked in coconut milk. Now lobster cooked in coconut milk! That sounds yu-uh-uh-my!!!

Now see you had me at johnson... but I think I would take guinea pig over lobster in coconut milk. I cannot get past the fish a... (let's use "whoopie cakes" here) smell. Literally these things suck more than chicken poo off the sea bottom (heh I said bo... well you get the idea) and I know that coconut milk is very tasty but I do not think that even it could change the taste of poo.

But as my DH loves to say right before he envelopes it, "It is the tastiest poo I have ever eaten...."

So I am thinking I am going to have to offer up some chickens to the BYC Chicken Rehoming Gods.... My Bantam Ameracauna Rooster and 5 Black Star Hens are not working out. Although gorgeous and wonderful layers from what I have read, they are too aggressive for the rest of my flock. If anyone is interested PM me. I would like to see them all go together but maybe it would do them better good to be separated. Make them less aggressive towards the other chickens. I posted pictures of them a few posts back in the thread if you would like to see them. I would like to recover what I paid for them on Saturday but if someone wants to take the whole group then I would go down some on it.

I know this is not a great selling strategy but they spent all day running around in circles trying to keep the rest of the chickens away from all of the food and water. I literally had to go out and separate them so the other chickens would drink and all of the chickens were MEGA-THIRSTY. They probably spent a good hour just hovering over the water drinking. Then when I let the Black Stars back into the pen, they took over again in less than 10 mins. So if anyone is interested in a small mafia flock of hens let me know...

DH and I are with your Hubby on that one! Oh my gosh, we love lobster! Well main lobster not rock lobster and it must be super fresh. No frozen lobster for us. In fact there is not much in the way of seafood that we don't love. But no worries. If you ever travel to Ecuador then there is plenty of guinea pig to go around. I like to think I would be brave enough to try it but I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food.

Good luck finding a home for your birds! Maybe someone that has a separate coop and run area could use some great layers.

Yeah my DH is right there with you guys. I used to take him out once a year on his birthday to have lobster and steak and he was in heaven. Since the boys came along we do not get to go out that often. Ok well we never get out, but we're kind of hermit like anyway so it's all good.

I think the most "exotic" thing I have eaten was Giraffe steak in Chicago once. It was super tasty. I am pretty sure that I would pass on the Guinea Pig too. Munch on a twig or something. The good thing about most cultures is I have yet to find one that doesn't eat some sort of vegetation.

My DH was trekking in Nepal and the only thing to eat on the side of the Mt Everest was Yak Liver. Now he's a non-cow-a-terrian; I call him the Hindu. Son won't eat fish or pork, so the only thing we eat around here is ...wait for it ..... chicken. Well, and turkey, too. Thank Heaven for small favors for the person obligated to create all the meals.

We are a no pork/shellfish house, so cow, birds and regular fins and scale type fish is all we eat. Which leaves you with a HUGE menu. I was teasing Sunny earlier but seriously I have never eaten lobster, shrimp, oysters, etc. before so I really could not tell you what they taste like. I really cannot get past the smell to even taste it. I am very thankful however that there is a ton of other stuff in the world to eat to make everyone happy.

I agree with vegaschick. You all are too too funny!!! I'm having a heck of a time trying not to wake DH up and he is dowstairs, down the hall and behind a closed door.

The most exotic thing I've ever eaten was alligator and that is not considered exotic if you are from the south. It was delicious!!! No seriously, really good. I've always wanted to try rattlesnake meat. I hear it's super yummy too!
