Hello to all - I have not died, yet! Last sunday - I went to help someone with their mustang. The horse kicked me - catching my right hand and my chin/face. Broke my mid finger, just above the knuckle of my hand, and gave me some really purtty facial colors. So I am splinted up -too much swelling to cast, and on pain pills (trying to ween myself off of them). Hoping I do not need surgery to pin my finger.




Chickens - I have them - mostly in shades of blue - if anyone is looking. No picts for a bit, but can do video.


I am thinking about selling a couple of my heritage Orpington cockerels - if anyone might be interested plez let me know.


Lacey - let me know what day works for you, as far as the roo goes.


Ron - are you still interested in the roo also? (sorry to ask but space for cockerels is getting tight)


Sunny - would you be interested in the trio? or just a pullet? I am leaning towards selling the trio possibly.

Ok here are the girls, sorry about the amount of pics, they would not stand still for a group shot.

First off, I need some help here. When I first saw these I thought Silver Laced Wyndottes but the previous owners insist that they are Sebrights so could someone help me out and let me know what they are so I do not make a fool of myself thinking I have Wyndottes.

The Rooster, I need a bit of help with him too, they said he is a Bantam Ameracauna can anyone confirm this for me?

The Red Star, Bantam Ameracauna, Bantam Buff Japanese and white Leghorn Grouped! YAY!

Here are my Barred Rocks (at least I thought they were until someone said I was wrong....

23 in all of the news ones and then 29 altogether with the Legbars and the Barred Rocks. They are still prettying up as they were picked a lot with the previous owners. All help figuring out the trouble-makers is greatly appreciated

i went to SunnyDawn's house last week to purchase one of her delawares, and i had the pleasure of meeting your gorgeous orp crosses. Now, I'm being DEAD SERIOUS< those are THE most beautiful birds i have ever seen!

Golly if i wasnt maxed out, id be all over it. Are you going to continue the orp project? I really hope so because i know I am going to want to get my hands on one of those one day....



that being said i know nothing about football, and i know my coworkers have a football pool every year, so i may be coming here for some advice on winning big bucks!

Computer got another nasty virus - so it's back in the ICU at Mountain Computers...I'm at the library using their computers.

Genny (HorsefeathersNV) - Wowee!!! I was wondering what happened to you - that just sounds so awful - let me know if you need the name of a good orthopedic doctor (I work in the surgery dept at Renown).

My friend bought 3 hens from the gal on McCallahan off Mt Rose - so she doesn't need anymore hens.

Who knew my small and (innocent) comment on football brought so much conversation! I am originally from New Orleans, my family still lives in a small town about 90 minutes from NO. My daddy was a huge Saints fan. I saw the Saints play in Tulane Stadium and watched the Superdome being built. I was a Saints fan when we were the "Aints" and wore paper bags on our heads! I have a fleur de lis and a Sr. Saint sticker on my truck. I wear charms on my necklace that are all NO oriented. I proudly fly a Superbowl Championship flag in front of my house. My ringtone on my cell is "Who Dat Gonna Beat Dim Saints?" I named my puppy I got last November, Brees (after Drew Brees). I'm a Saints Fan!

....I married a 49er's fan...... but he does root for the Saints if/when the 49ers are out of the playoffs.

Someone had posted about how expensive things are on CL. I totally agree! I see on other forums people who get sheds/playhouses, etc for free or low cost. We rarely see any of that here. I wonder why?

Eglyntine - They are silver laced wyandottes - seabrights are small and perky and have huge tails, shaped more like old english game bantams. Yours are big and fluffy, it appears. As soon as I saw the shot I said - what pretty SLW hens.

That is actually what happened with these chickens I got this weekend, they wanted $8/each and I ended up getting them for $4.30/ea when it was all said and done and they delivered them to my house. The lady didn't want strangers knowing where she lived, which in this town I can understand that to a point. Although I do not know that I would have hauled 23 chickens across down in a car like she did. heh I am very grateful though.

So maybe I just need to be more assertive where CL's is concerned and come in low and hope they are sick of it in their yard and just want to get rid of it. I know lumber is almost as expensive if not more than Home Depot lately. I drove all the way up to Incline to pick up bunch of wood some guy tore off of his deck and paid him $50 for it and my Dad and I had to haul it up a mountain side to the road. I think I am going to stay away from Incline/Tahoe offers unless it is light items. *ROFL*

Genny I sent you a PM. I sure hope you have a super quick recovery!!! Last we talked you said you might have a couple of fertile eggs for my broody. She still is not giving up and it's been 6 weeks! Were you talking about the Am trio? How loud is your roo? I have a super loud one (he's the prettiest but awfully noisy for a city lot) and a well behaved one but he's not good looking and I can't use him for a breeding project.

I already have a home for one of them and she would take two if I got another to replace them. So, yes. I'd take the trio!
