Nevadans?

I just joined the forum but have 6 robust buff orpingtons in Las Vegas. I bought the day old chicks on Easter last year and they have been our new treasured pets since then. Recently, my boyfriend has declared that for his birthday this year he wants a blue orpington Roo!!! It seems that they are very rare in this area. Does anyone around Las Vegas/Pahrump, etc know of anyone with Blues? I would be much obliged with any help.

thanks!

One of each!!!!!!

I planned on one of each, but 2 EEs, but now im thinking of getting 10, so i'd get another EE and another Australorp, cuz they are pretty chickens and lay a lot. I'm ordering tonight so that is my final decision unless someone with a good argument deters me.

Sorry for a Triple Post, but I'm a bit sad now. Just found out that getting 10 hens with the Marek's shot costs $50 all together...

ETA: And shipping would cost another $35. Looks like i'm just buying chicks from IFA again this year. Thats alot of money just for 10 chicks

We have 11 acres as some of you know. Our property is fully fenced – with 2x4 woven 4foot tall fence. Every morning we walk the entire property with the dogs.

This morning when we were almost at the nw corner of the property, TWO, yes two Mountain Lion “cubs” came busting out from the sage brush. Our dogs immediately give chase which results in two humans running, screaming at the dogs.

Cats run into the fence and bounce off. Dogs and cats face off.

I do not like to kill, just to kill – but I will protect what is mine.

Horses, geese, ducks, chickens and dogs are all “fine” – some battle wounds but fine compared to the cats. Yup, that is me and my trusty 22

And yes, I cried before and after the shots.

Hey Ron! I'm breeding my RIW to my RIR roo and might have some red sexlink chicks this Spring. I'm doing a test drive under the broody silkie to see if the hatchery stock is genetically correct (hens need the silver gene) to produce a sexlink. If they are then we'll be incubating eggs thru Feb, Mar, April.
