Nevadans?

Oh yeah, and CUTE BUNNY!!!!!!! I am so jealous! I have thought about getting one to put in my girls pen but my boyfriend would MURDER me if I brought home another animal. I thought his eyes were going to roll out of his head when I brought home the roo, haha. He's a good sport

Tumbleweed33 – Welcome, sorry I am so late. I am not close to you, but I should have blues later this year. Have splash and black Orpingtons right now.

NVRon – thanks – be careful out your way too!

Sunny –

I will have to get pictures of the ones here. That little white spot head – you should have kept her! She cries the “I am out of the brooder and lost” cry – but IN the brooder, standing on her tip toes to see when I come around the corner. Little turd. (shhh, I am hoping she is a she

Jeeper – I am glad your hen is doing better. Egg bound hens scare me.

Aubreynoramarie – thanks. I am sorry the troubles your having with Wimpy. If you want to keep him – I would let him out for a bit while your girls are in their run – let them start to get to know each other thru the fence. It could take Lucy months, to accept him – sorry to say, but you could try teaming him up with Midgy in the time being. When Obby came here from Sunny’s – she refused our roo for months, ran screaming from him after a face off. Just takes a bit of time.

yay i found Wimpy a home!
shes a school teacher who has no other chickens but is interested in starting a small flock. Shes gonna let him have run of the backyard all to himself for a few weeks while he recovers from his injuries and gets over his molt, then shes going to buy him two bantam girls to...you know...do that thing with as he pleases. im so happy! im gonna miss him to death, though. this was a perfect rooster trial run! Mark and i are considering our options at this point as to what kind of rooster we really need. maybe a young one so the girls can pick on him and he wont fight back? Not a bantam, but not a huge roo either- as the bantams are too small to mate my girls, but the large roos are too big to fit through the coop door!
oh i dont know... it is kind of stressful thinking about bothering the neighbors everymorning. moving roo in and out of the house and keeping him in a seperate pen so he cant get outside first thing in the morning. I suppose on saturday ill let Wimpy have free reign of the backyard while he awaits his new owners and see how loud it is when hes roming around.
i mean sheesh, i THINK since Mark has accepted the idea of getting a roo...he should be okay with me getting another hen, right?!?!

lol, omg i am truly addicted.
Anyways, heres Wimpy this morning. The girls were just begging for a peice of him and he couldnt be none the wiser

Well, DH was convinced that there was another cat on the property. Our black Fila was “missing” for the first few minutes or so of the cat/dog fight – we speculated that he may have run the mom off. DH was correct – in the sage brush this morning we found the other cat – deceased.

After further informing myself - I do believe these kits were abandoned. All three were so very thin, yes starving. It still breaks my heart that they are “gone” but I am so glad they are no longer starving.
