Nevadans?

oh! youre a vet tech?!?! okay, well basically the vet said that there really wasnt anything she could do unless she knew exactly what was wrong with the leg. that would require x-rays, and after that, it would cost 1000 dollars to fix the leg. So i opted to not pay extra for the x-rays because i could not afford a 1000 dollar surgery for my chick.
i am going to see another vet this weekend to see if they can give me a better quote on the leg. I think today i decided that id rather just have the leg amputated instead of putting the chick through a total reconstructive surgery. I am still trying to get a quote on that but the vets not calling me back. I have a friend who was a vet tech for a while, im going to call him and see if he knows how to do an amputation. i doubt it...

ok so I had to go look that one up ( Meniere's Syndrome ) very interesting. When I lived in Austin Tx. I had inner ear problems. I could not go up in an elevator of on an escalator. The doctor said it was a symptom from allergies. I find that when my neck is properly aligned, muscles and spine my problems subside. I hope you find a solution and feel better soon!

Oh Carol, I'm so sorry! I, like Lisa, have had problems with the inner ear due to allergies (couldn't walk straight, I looked like a drunkard) but did not have the other symptoms of Meniere's Syndrome. All I had to do was take an antihistamine regularly and the problem was solved but your situation is so much more serious! I hope you find some relief soon!

And Happy Mardi Gras to you too!!!

LOL I love the name Peggy aubrey!

I too have allergy related inner ear problems. Unfortunately, I can't take antihistamines due to other health issues so I pretty much just live with my alleriges and the attendant side issues.

I'm starting to wonder if my hen was bit by a black widow?

Someone here at work wondered if she had bound egg syndrome. But you'd think that would have shown more symptoms a lot sooner, right?

Thanks everyone! Had similar problems 2 years ago - on some meds to help - able to work. Still kind of doubtful of the Meniere's - no hearing loss or ringing in the ears.

Love the Mardi Gras smily!!! Thanks, Sunny!

I have people asking daily for eggs (my little 6 hens just can't keep up with the demand!) - if anyone has excess that they want to get rid of, I'll buy them from you and sell them at work. Just let me know!

Carol
