omg thats so weird, i just flipped the yellow pages open and their ad was the first one i saw. I called them like an idiot.

I will take my little chick to them tomorrow afternoon. I guess my trip is going to get postponed. poor baby

all she could offer me was a one thousand dollar surgery.

I brought him home and made him a little boot so at least he wont be walking on the back of his foot anymore. he seems to be getting around a tad better.

Aubrey,

If you haven't done so already, type "Splay Leg treatment" or "splayed legs" into the SEARCH bar at the top of the page. Lots of folks have some good advice on how they've treated similar maladies.
The bootie thing was tried successfully by "The Warden" who has Icelandic chickens and had a chick that was similarly affected. I don't know if she was dealing with a loose tendon, also.

I'm pretty sure your ShowGirl supplier didn't send you a lame chick and that this is probably a shipping injury. Hopefully it's just a strain/sprain, which means rest and keeping the chick quiet and as *inactive* as possible. (Yeah, good luck on that one!) Wolftracks use of the coffee cup sounds ingenious, but -- not knowing how big your chick is -- you may have to resort to a larger container.

Your chick's a cutie, to be sure.
