I just got an Acre in Carson City for under $200k. There are several on the south end of town for under $180. That would put you around 3-5 minutes from Costco and only 15-20 minutes from the lake. Let me know if you need a realtor too. I have a good friend that helped us and she is REALLY good at making sure you get the best deal for you ad not her. -Ed

That seems like a perfect location! Love it out there.

It is a nice area, but you need to check out the local ordinances first! Carson City has some serious restrictions on the number of chickens you are allowed. I don't remember exactly what the number is but there was something about it in the paper because the mayor or someone running for mayor had some chickens so there was a "flap"

about it, and I remember thinking it was awfully restrictive, like 2 or 3 birds or something. And of course no roos!

Oh crud. Markand I realized that we have fallen madly in love with these polish babies. They are not shy at all, follow you around the yard, crawl all over you when you're sitting (head to shoulder to head to shoulder!) and are the sweetest little things I have ever seen. Soooo yep. Were gonna have four roosters. This oughtta be interesting.

I'll let him know about Macy's. How many chicks are you getting? That's so exciting! You will have to post some photos for sure! Do you still have a few chicks from your shipped eggs or did that not turn out well?

Well I have roos only.

I am getting 25 chicks though 4 are already sold (once they are old enough to sex). Hopefully out of that many I will get a few more pullets.

I will definitely post pics.

Lacey that is horrible!!! What is wrong with people?!! Wolftracks has had the same thing happen to her. People are just taking her birds and she even had her goat stolen! It was tied up in the garage and they went inside for 5 mins and when they came back the rope had been untied and the goat was gone.

Are things that dire these days that you have to steal people's livestock?!!

Ouch! That would stink! Dayton's not far from Carson and you can get a nice chunk of land there at a reasonable price these days.

Aubrey I could tell by the way that Mark was talking about them the other day that he was really attached to the little buggers. Good luck! I hope the neighbors don't give you a hard time!

Yeah sunny, so far mark nor I have gotten attached to any of the birds like this and have not felt the attachment back from any of them either. Who knows, maybe they will be submissive to Petey and syd and not crow!

Lacey your story makes me very sad

if I were in your shoes there would definitely be a WAR and it would end with me having a bazillion chickens and them having NONE! haha okay.

Elizabeth, I want more pics!

Hi Ron!

Welcome newbies!

Aubrey, she only has a couple of adult birds now. The dog that lives across the street that I mentioned earlier got out and off'd most of her birds, including all of my girls over there. Thats why I gave her the chicks. I kinda feel bad about it now. I'd be upset if a bunch of my girls got killed and someone gave me 8 roosters, but I was feeling really bitter and I let it get the best of me.

Bad news guys. I had my flock of 25 meat birds and 25 st run assortment chicks for layer replacement, and that dog from ^ got them today.

About 20 are missing. Buck keeps those freaking white trash dogs out, but apparently my little sister took him on a walk and didnt put the chicks up. I dont get it. The people that own them just let them roam the 'hood. Like a week ago they attacked a guy walking with his dog and kid. The owners just dont care. Their dogs are going to end up shot, its happened before. Unreal.
