now ya'll come back again. But not until I get the pictures on BYC.

Ha ha ha I told them you said "Hi". Steve's Uncle thought that was real cute and said "Hi" back.

Glad your turkey came out great Ron. that's the size of turkey I used to need. I could never find a bird big enough at any of the stores to feed my whole crew and have left overs (mostly my family, Steve comes from a small family). Even when I preordered!!! I missed having leftovers all those years! Since we moved to Reno the whole gang can't make it up here so our celebrations are much smaller. Yes it's nice and peaceful now but to tell you the truth I kinda liked the chaos of a huge Miller family get-together!

Kim I hope your SIL has a quick recovery! I've had much more involved surgeries but to be quite honest, I'd rather have them than to have anything that stops me from eating what I want for any length of time! I'm a real foodie and it would just be too sad to do without the things I love for that long.

Tell Bill that Steve and Sunny say "Hi"!

I know. This poor man has had so much surgery the past 3 years? All around the holidays too. Then again, so has my daughter. They both work so hard and it seems like once they end up having to have something taken care of they can't keep up and get so far behind. About to lose that big beautiful house because they've been had to take time off for surgeries. What really upsets me is my SIL had both knees replaced and although he can do a little more, he's still in pain. They're trying to talk my daughter into back surgery now. They just can't stay out of the hospital. We all really miss Bill when the surgeries come up. Not only could he tell you exactly what they would be doing, but he was always there to either take care of them or get into them. The pain from my SIL's jaw and the damage that's going on is just to the point it has to be done and soon. He's put if off for months, but finally getting it done.

John just called and said, "Hey, you want to go get the Christmas tree today?" Oh my gosh everyone, this has been a on again, off again tradition for the past 15 years. The day after Thanksgiving we go to Dog Valley and cut our tree but this year because of our jobs we were not sure if we were even going to have a Christmas tree. John and I hardly ever have the same days off together anymore. I was trying to figure it out and there wasn't an answer. I told him, look you are the Manager so you can set the schedule to have the days off you want. I don't have a choice on my schedule anymore. He said "True but I need to be fair too, I always get it off and my staff does not and now they want it off so I'm giving it to them."

Now there's been 2 years we didn't even get a tree because there was too much snow. Last year we bought a tree already cut and I hated it. It was so brown before Christmas we couldn't even light it. Now don't get me wrong here, I'm one of the few people who can't stand the black Friday stuff. I don't plan my whole day today around newspapers. I set up for Christmas. We bring in the tree and decorate it. We set up the trains & village under the tree. I don't even like presents at all. The only thing I ever want each year is my stick of salami, my World Almanac and a Calendar for next year, that's it. I love John's staff, they are the best I've seen but I'm being petty here and I want my Tree. Of course, I didn't say anything since. I kept quiet and just said to myself, it is what it is and get over it!

So I did and went on. But today I get to have my tradition back!

Whew, okay, the rant is now over!

Very nice! But what is up with the pet carrier? Is that to get them used to the idea of living in a coop after they grow up?

Sheryl I've always wanted to go cut a Christmas tree but up until a couple of years ago I didn't have any family near here (Vegas and San Fran), and then as you say it has been snowy the last couple of years. I've cut my own firewood every year since I first got a woodstove ('05), but my new place doesn't have one and I'm totally bummed about that!

Aubrey, those are hecka cute!! Omg. Now I'm trying to convince myself to have a mixed flock of Polish later in life, but I'm already planning on so many others!! Ug.

Sheryl, I don't get black Friday either, and I dont really enjoy shopping, so I doubt I'd like it. I'd glad you got your tree this year, though. that's a cool tradition.

Come on picture people!! We're waiting to see everything!

The first half of my thank's giving was spent at the hospital.
hmm.png
I kept vomiting, (Even though I wasnt sick, but it still hurt pretty bad or I wouldnt go to that evil place.) then I got too dehydrated, and so they pumped me full of fluids and gave me a clear-liguid diet during thank's giving. Meh. After a test, the doctor dude thought it was either ulcers or gall bladder stones (never heard of these..?) and told me to follow up with a specalist. I don't know if I want too.

lacey, sorry about your hospital trip.

sounds like a lousy thanksgiving
