Hey Aubrey I don't know how much time you spend looking on CL. I've been looking for one of those steel ocean cargo containers. It was frustrating 'cause I'd forget to look for several days (weeks?) and no telling how many deals I missed. Anyway, I found this great website, ifttt - stands for If This Then That. What it does is, you set a condition, like a CL search, and every 15 minutes 24/7/365 it does that search. The "Then That" is an action you tell it to take when the "If Then" is matched. So you set a CL search, and tell it to eMail you when the search returns something new! It's awesome; now I don't even need to think about it, I just get an eMail every time someone posts an ad for an ocean cargo container! I setup another one that checks the Weather Channel website for my area and it will send me an eMail if the forecast calls for snow. Good stuff!

Does anyone have a baby that I could buy, or maybe foster for a few months? Tender started showing signs of wry neck a couple of days ago, and it's just getting worse. Everything I've read says there's about a 50/50 chance of pulling out of it. If he doesn't pull through, Nugget is going to be really lonely until she can join the flock. Even if I get a rooster chick, he'll be a good companion until she's old enough to go outside.
My babies are 2.5-week-old silkies.

Ahh, yes! I knew there was someone else interested! Fallon is where the Big R Store is, but for you, you'd have to go through Ferntucky!
The turkey's they had there were all BBB (Broad-Breasted Bronze), a hybrid, which is why mine grew so big. I'm going to investigate the possibility of heritage turkeys for next year. If I decide not to go with those (they're more expensive, for one thing), I'll do the BBB again. I'll let you all know well in advance.
BTW Sheryl the Christmas tree cutting looked like fun! Where did you say you went? Did you use a hand saw? What does a permit cost?

The tree cutting was a blast. We go to Dog Valley, it's very easy to get there but the road is very rough with lots of small to medium size rocks. The permit cost $10 per tree maximum 2 trees per household. You get the permit for Dog Valley at the forest service on Franklin St. in Reno near the Alamo truck stop. Once the snow really falls you won't be able to get in there and that's why we always go Thanksgiving weekend if we can. If you want to do it please let me know and I'll help you do it.
Edited to add: Yep, hand saw only is needed. Rope to tie it down to take it home.

Maybee those of us who want to raise turkeys could get together and order some. I've seen that there are minimum orders and I don't need 15 or 20 turkeys myself.
