Nevadans?

I was wondering how you managed the goat thing in the city. My mom had them when I was a kid, and I remember her going out to milk them. (My dad was out to sea for 3 years, and she did the goats, garden, and chickens with 4 kids under the age of 8.) I was about 6 years old, so I don't remember how long she had them, but she didn't keep them. And when she had a chance to farm again, with my dad around and teenage kids to do the chores, she chose instead to wake up at 4am each morning and milk my uncle's cows for him.

Your buff polish is sooooo beautiful! I'm jealous!

Thanks Missy! She's a sweetheart too

The goat thing would be easier if they were friendly but I cannot see myself being able to milk her if I can't even catch her.

I was talking to Steve about this. I was afraid from your descriptions that she would make you very unpopular with the neighbors. Once one complains then you may find it hard to keep any of the noise makers (roos or goats).

Good luck finding a good home for them quickly!

That's pretty much what our "serious" conversation was about. Darby has been in heat before but was really quiet about it. We decided that now the neighbors know for sure and are obviously not happy we can't let the goats compromise our real love of raising chickens. If they were more pet-like then we could at least let them stay in the house or garage during heat but I am not dealing with chasing around screaming animals at six in the morning ever again. Nobody has answered my CL ad which worries me because I think my price is more than fair. Hopefully tomorrow. I really think they will be much happier in a herd.

Definitely! And the California the Whole State thread. Most of the folks on there are Central CA. Stockton and Sac are only about a 4-6 hour drive here and back.
