well, in mexico, you just get your eggs at the market in a plastic bag. Not quite as protected that way but...

With this new fire, I was just thinking I would be in trouble if we had to evacuate. I really don't have carriers in which to transport my chickens. suggestions for rather cheap small containers for chickens, anyone? I'd have to have several smaller ones to fit in our small cars.Maybe i'll have to look for pet carriers at goodwill or something.

For a temporary move, there are always the boxes that produce or meat come in, with the fitting top. A lot of those have holes cut out of them already, and they're sturdy.

Missy that would be great I have already gotten rid of three dozen! Plus my dads new wife will be by on Sunday for another two dozen, but I've got about two dozen assorted size brown eggs left that you can have! They're the rejects that have 'smears' on em here and there but you get it! Lol. Regular people can't eat those hahaha. They aren't bad . Let me know if ya still want em! You can have em for free aj

I'd love them! They're all going in the frying pan anyway. I can stop by work tomorrow and bring some cartons. When's a good time? I have a break between clients at 1pm, 4pm, and after 7pm.

This fire is crazy, does anyone live out near there?? We can band together and help our BYCer's in need. And to add to this crazy day, one of the guy's I know got into a huge car crash. Everyone's alright, but it's still scary. :/

Aubrey, mymom used to get so many eggs she'd feel frig-claustrophobic and scramble them all up and give them to, ironically, the chickens. I dunno about her somtimes...but she's pretty awesome. :]
