Elizabeth those cakes look yum yum yummy! I'm gonna have to hire you to make a flamingo wedding cake!
that is a very high egg to bird ratio especially for january!Oh yeah... 25 eggs today, new record! Woohoo! We have 29 chickens/ducks, not counting the 2 drakes.
yay for eggs! they will get the hang of it but as others have said decoys are helpful at the beginning.I haven't been on in a while with everything going on and trying to keep up is exhausting.
Anyway I just wanted to share that we got our first eggs from our (not so baby anymore) girls.I have no idea which one(s) lay ed them but they were the cutest little eggs I have ever seen. I'm sure they will get bigger as the hens mature more otherwise we will need lots more eggs since these were a bit larger than an inch.![]()
I'm not complaining though as I am really excited. I have a nest set up in there but they are not using it they just lay ed them where ever. Will they learn to use the nest or should I find a way to teach them???
yes, yes, I agree and will enable you in your quest for more...That's a lot of eggs. hmmm I might need more chickens.
