Nevadans?

I live in spanish springs, but the others there that day were from all over town too. I guarantee you will have to go to Vassar. Nice thing is, they sent them out to me on saturday, and I picked them up on Sunday. The post office called me at 9 am to come get em. The post office was closed, but right where everyones post office boxes are, there is a little phone reciver you pick up to reach the back of the post office where one of the unlucky sunday workers will come out check your Id and fork over your peeping box. Its all pretty exciting! I was advised to call thepost office to warn them about my live package, and give them my phone # ahead of time.

Thanks for the heads up! Mine are shipping on a Monday so I will have to fight the crowds I'm sure. Oh well at least I have adorable babies to look forward to.

The crowd will suck, yeah, but just think of how jealous and envious all those people waiting in line will be when you walk by with all those cute babies peeping their butts off. Im sure half of that crowd wish they could get chickens.I would know,I lived in apartments most of my life and had a deep down craving for owning chickens the whole time.Im fortunate enough to be able to now! Where did you order from?

That's true! When I picked up my first birds after moving here (had chickens before but waited a while once we moved) my neighbor said it was "the coolest thing I'd ever done"! She was so enthralled with those little peepers! Wait till she sees 2 boxes full of tiny ameraucana chicks!
I went in on an order for 50 chicks from John Blehm @ chick hatchery. They are due to ship on April 19th. It seems so far away especially since we ordered them back in November. Horsefeatherz is going to sell me a couple of EEs though when her's hatch so I don't have to go quite so long without babies. Evonne may find a way to drop a couple more off to me as well. Do you know of anyone in the area that is hatching Welsummers or has hatching eggs? I'd also love a couple of wellies.

There is a lady that will have silkies in Feb, and a man who will have French Black Copper Marrans around March 1st. Both live in Washoe Valley.

Oh Black Copper Marans! I'd love some more Marans! I have 3 Cuckoo Marans and they lay the most beautiful eggs. Black Copper Marans lay even darker eggs than the Cuckoo. Does he have a web-site?

Well finally got some pictures taken. I am going to have chicks available in the NW Reno area, hatch from my mixed flock. Because I cannot sex a chick, and do not have sex-linked chicks – should you get a roo from my chicks and you do not want, I will take him back (to be clear – he would be dinner) and refund the chick money for that roo or swap for a pullet if I have one.

My main Roo Versace – he is a Splash Orpington Roo, hatched 4/22/08 from Greg Marlett’s line. I did not hatch him, a BYC member was rehoming him and some other chickens and I was very lucky to get him. He is incredibly sweet – you would not know that I did not hand-raise him.

The EE’s – Sweet Amelia (back) is a chick from Greens, she will be 1 this March, and Chloe she came with Versace and I think she will be 2.

My Cochins (LF)
Sylvia (came with Versace) she made a pest out of herself until I finally said “I’ll take her” (her broody daughter is shown with her – Marion-berry is a Versace x Chloe cross pullet)

Some of my chicks:
My first roo – Marilyn (yeah wanted a pullet badly – instead of a Monroe, I got a Manson) was going to freezer him, but I just love him and his personality so am really thinking about keeping him for future EE (could cross him to my Blehm chicks)

Lightfoot (Versace x Sylvia cross) and on the far right is Gumpers – from Gumpsgirls’ eggs.

Here is their Email address. He doesnt have a website or anything, I think he just does it for a hobby.I havent seen his birds either. I was supposed to get some from him last year, but got caught up in my new baby boy and never finished my coop. I sent him a random email last month to see if he still had his birds, and if he would be having any chicks this year. I heard back from him the week after I had already put in my McMurray order! Mabey next year for [email protected]
