You are very welcome! If California hasn't covered Sunnyvale yet I will do that one as well. I had chickens in Sunnyvale when I lived there.

Good luck on your hatch vegaschick and good luck on your move evonne! I hope both your projects go smoothly and without a hitch.

Hey...I didn't know you were gettin' Ameraucanas. Where'd you get 'em? What kinds?

I have 1 chick hatched and 3 more pips in my homemade bator! Yay! So exciting!

I hatched them, where else? Eggs from St George, craigslist ad, supposed to be from SQ stock.

We'll see. Congrats on the hatch so far.

I am freaking out right now. I have never had a hatch fail. I have hatched 98% average on over a dozen hatches. How can this be happening???

I dont know how I am going to sleep tonight... I keep peeking and no movement!

I am so sorry humbrd and sunny. My daughters had several coming from this hatch as well. I'm so devastated I am wanting to buy a new bator online tonight!!!! . But that's silly since I have used this hovobator with great results consistently until now. What a waste of a month. I check the bator three times a day! --- perhaps its because its the first few eggs they layed after their molt and the shells may have been thin????

What do you guys think???

In a few days we will take them and open to see what stages of development were reached... I will of course wait way past hatch date to do this...

This line is from Christina Ledford, who I feel is doing a wonderful job developing the breed. Perhaps I should order another line to breed in?

This is their first full year and the roosters fertility is quite proven (although the brat prefers the aracaunas). Candling showed movement prior to lock down. What could be going on that they would just not completely develop. I'm going to be sick-

I'm so sorry Flowers! I was totally stressing out the past few days for that same reason. Give them a bit more time, I guess. This is my first time and I'm hatching in a new homemade bator so I really don't have any other advise. Just ... sorry and

There are so many factors it's hard to say what went wrong. What about eggs. I have an empty 40 egg bator I could put some eggs in to hatch myself. You want to sell me some eggs? I can try them in my bator and we'll see how it goes. I set one bator two weeks ago but my chickens got mixed up while I was out of town last week. I re-segregated the breeders from the layers but I still have to wait a full two weeks before I can set more eggs. By that time my other bator will be empty and I can get back to business with that one. I'm going out of town next week so I'd have to pick them up tomorrow or wait till I get back from my trip. If you don't want to sell eggs you could try setting another batch and it should be hatching about the time I'll be able to get to Tahoe again. My chicks should be hatching just the day I leave town so my hubby will have to tend to them. He is not a chicken lover and will likely be very grouchy about that. Yikes, I guess I better get the brooder set up before I go. Well let me know.

Humbrd
