Welcome, DesertChick324! Yeppers, we're all things Nevada.
I haven't been to the Palomino Valley, but a cohort of mine gets all her mustangs (for training into saddle horses) from the facility there.

Down in SoNev we're having a gloriously warm weekend...up to the 90's. This is great for the two-week old chicks as I've got them in a battery brooder in the casita. If I don't turn on the air-con, the room stays nice and toasty and, ergo, it saves electric $$ as the brooder doesn't need to pop on all the time. May have to turn air on, though, this next week as we're slated to hit near 100....which is the opposite direction I want to go for hardening the chicks off.
evonne, your SLW's are coming along nicely! I'm sure they're looking forward to their new home (and more head room) next week. Looks like maybe 50/50 sex-wise, but I don't do chicken sexing...unless easy like the sex-links. Looks like there may be a few single comb SLW's in the bunch.... Sigh..... So knock those out of any bird show aspirations you might have...but supposedly they're more fertile (eggers) than the rose comb variety. Shipped eggs are always a crapshoot.
BTW, the only roo left of the sex-link Stars is the white one.... He's a sweetie. Doesn't mind being picked up, not aggressive or jumpy and just sits in the hand. He needs a home.....
