Horsefeatherz, im so sorry, but i cant get a roo anymore. Not we cant have any roos because they make noise, or so he says. but i seriously wasnt trying to set you up or anything. If he changes his mind i would love on of your EEx boys. Theyre so pretty.

Have a nice time, Sunny. Where you at? Or where did you go? Its okay if you answer when you get back...i guess.

Wow, Didn't think I'd been off line that long. Hello to all the new folks.

Sunnydawn, I was thinking about breeding a blue or silver Ameraucanas into my EEs to see if I could get more blue eggs. I love the color of my EEs (which are from Privett) but want more blue eggs. I was hoping the silver or blue Ameraucanas might not affect the colors of my birds too much. I don't mind roos but would rather have an egg producing hen since I also sell the eggs to cover the cost of the feed. Would even take a pair if you have them to spare.

Echetino, Like Sunnydawn I bread may kinds of birds but the oldest chicks I have right now are EEs that are only about 4 weeks old. Look me up when your ready though because of course they do get older every day.

Aubreynoramarie, What kind of chickens are your little roos? I might be interested in a trade.

Audrey, Thanks for posting that. I have been waiting for something chicken related to happen near Reno. Sad news is that day is my youngest daughters 18th birthday party. If I could get my mind made up I might even have a cockerel for trade or sale. My daughter is trying to find out if she can move him out where her boyfriend lives.

Humbrd, thanks for the info. We're trying to determine which breeds we like the most, but considering we are only going to house 4-5 chickens, I have a feeling we won't be too choosy. So, I'll likely be in touch.

This sounds like low humidity to me - I have had a couple under broodies and even under my call duck broodies. I think since our humidity is naturally very low, it affects some eggs - those more fragile. But I am no expert and just throwing my opinion around

I appreciate yer opinion..........it helps me to research causes.
And yer right, that could have been an issue.

Have another question for ya.

That broody hen of mine, ya know, the one I made a special place for with a nice nest box, food & water??

Weeeell she smeared poop on the eggs!

Now what do I do????
