Congrats on the 3000! And thank you so much for the compliment on our girls. We are very happy with how they are turning out.
It is such a shame that the bigger dogs do not live as long. Our first Mastiff only lived for 9 years. They are so lovable and integrated into our lives and then to have them gone so soon it just breaks your heart.
I think on the food deal that a lot of ppl over feed the bigger dogs because they get obsessed with "size" at least it is very true with the mastiffs. Just because you have a 300 lb. mastiff does not mean it SHOULD be 300 lbs. *LOL* Our vet is very shocked and pleased that the girls are as big as they are and not in the least bit overweight. They specialize in Mastiffs and they see so many very overweight mastiffs. Aubrey, I saw your dog, he's a chunk but not fat. That guy is ALL muscle. That's how our girls are too. We are very unorthodox with the way we feed our dogs, we free feed which again a lot of ppl do not do and I think that it does have something to do with them not being overweight. They have a very different outlook on eating when they know they can have it any time they want it. Unless it is chicken feed, I cannot keep them out of it and I swear if I did not keep it in the coop they would eat until they exploded.
