I've gotten as many as 13 in one day from my 10... Of course, that is not to say 24 hours... Like I check in the morning one day and the afternoon the next. But I recently put a light in the coop plugged into a thermocube (along with a heater for the waterer) so it comes on when the temp goes below 35 - which it does pretty much every night lately

Anyway production seems to have gone up since I did that about 3 weeks ago.

I'm finally starting to get eggs again. I have one girl, Amelia, my EE that looks like a Silver AM, that has not quit.

She has been molting and laying for months now. She has slowed down to 3-5 per wk, but I'm just amazed at her stamina.

At this rate she may be done molting by April.

Three other older EE girls (Eva, Jules, and Pene)have started back up and I've had several pullets start laying...and more to come, soon, I hope. Here's the pullet eggs I've gotten so far.

2 - Honey, Buff Orpington X Red Sex-Link, 12/27/2010 @ 32 wks, hatched from eggs given me by chickfrmlv
3 - Roulette, Wheaten Unknown Gamebird Mix, 1/3/2011 @ unknown age, given me as a chick w/her mama
4 - Lizzie, Black Copper Marans X EE, 1/5/2011 @ 31 wks (+4 days), hatched out by ke_ben from his own birds.
5 - Lady Jane, Feedstore EE, 1/8/2011 @ 32 wks

This was the first time we got a perfect score. The last hen finally started laying around Christmas. I do have supplemental light.

VegasChick - what a great picture! Love putting a "face to an egg"!

Sunny - I saw my friend today & he still wants chickies but he is okay to wait til there are more chicks. So if there is availability later on, he said he would still be interested....

i wish i could differenciate eggs from hens, but all i know is that my ee lays the blue egg, all the other eggs are the exact same color, lol
