So my RIR hen is growing spurs. I guess that's why she had a bigger comb and never layed an egg. So now I have to decided how to build him another run or let him live with the 10 hens and make sure I never leave on egg under a broody

Less people does sound good to me. I've never been to RSR when it was busy but I don't go there a lot. I really don't care much one way or the other where it is so I will go back to neutral. Every argument will sway me on this topic because it really doesn't matter to me.
Don't think this is normal for me though! I'm usually very opinionated!

What, you don't want little RIRs running around Tyler? I have to admit raising eggs with broodies was a huge chore around here. DH kept forgetting to check for the HUGE Xes I had marked the "leave them alone" eggs with, and twice they were gathered up by others (Dad and neighbor) who were trying to do us a favor when we were gone for a couple of days.

I thought hatching eggs via broodies was supposed to be easier!

Just got done donating platelets. Anybody else do this? According to the person that drew them, my platelet count is super high so I can count on being called often to donate. On the plus side, the high count means it only took me 80 minutes to donate when platelets usually take 2 hours (with one needle anyway, it would go faster with 2 arms hooked up).

I also don't care if we go to barfly ranch, I just felt RSR would be easier for the people who don't live in town to find

Yep! Here's a picture of Clark.

He was a gorgeous boy! He wasn't perfect, of course. The back of his comb is a little off and his back could be just a little bit longer. The tail angle also is just a tad too straight up and down but he has some wonderful qualities too and the minuses are few and slight. His coloring is gorgeous, his legs are feathered nicely (on the outside only as they should be), He has the beautiful beetle green sheen to his dark tail feathers and He carries himself very well!

Overall I was extremely proud of this boy! AND... one of his best qualities was his easy-going personality! At first I thought maybe he was too timid until I saw him react to danger! He yelled for his girls and ran back and forth, sounding out a loud alarm and flapping his wings like mad but refused to get to safety until the very last girl was in the coop (which took awhile)! I tried to get him to go in the coop, since the one girl left outside had gone the opposite direction, but he refused! I finally had to chase her toward the coop and as soon as she was inside he jumped up and rushed inside to safety.

I was very impressed! I had never seen a roo go to such extremes to be sure every hen was safe and sound. He is the main reason I ordered these current FBCM eggs from the same breeder! I'm hoping to have a whole flock of gorgeous easy-going birds like him! Of course, as you all know, I am mostly about egg color. The color of the egg is my top priority and these eggs are so nice and DARK! A rich reddish, mahagony color. Sooo pretty! I hope a bunch of them hatch!!!

I don't remember when it hatched but you saw it when you came over and felt it was a lady. It's feathering in sort of lady-like also but it's already got wattles so I'm stumped.

The girls all had quite pronounced wattles. I mean they weren't anything like Clark's wattles but still... and your girl there should have a really huge comb by now and some downward curved saddle feathers if she were a he. Sorry.
