THE RED ROCK! The one outside of Las Vegas? I have a friend who lives there. We simply must plan to meet each other, once you get settled in.

Nope sorry! The Red Rock north of Reno. It's also pretty but not nearly as spectacular as THE RED ROCK outside of Vegas. I've been to the Red Rock you speak of though. It is really a fantastic trip. In fact when I visited Vegas, quite a few years ago, that was the highlight of my trip. I'm not much of a gambler and the shows I saw didn't thrill me but that Red Rock area was really cool! I love Red Rock Country in Arizona and Utah and that area reminded me of that part of the world.

I had no idea there was another place called by the same name. It is a beautiful place. My Daughter and I used to do a lot of hiking in the canyon when we were both younger, now my Grandson wants to go, and I would love to take him, but the arthritis is settling in too deep to allow me to do it anymore. I am still grateful for the experience of our trips together, and she talks about them all the time. It was Mother, Daughter time in the best possible way and in a very beautiful setting.

You don't even need a place in the country! I live in the 'burbs!

Yea but Kim's part of the burbs is not as quiet as ours. She can't go out into her own backyard at night.

She's even had her chickens stolen! I think we should move her up here!

Actually I bought Makayla a baby goat when we first moved here. That's a story in itself. I went and took her out of the garage one morning and came in to fix a bottle. When Bill and I went outside to feed her, she was gone. Only took a about 15 minutes and she was the first thig stolen. My backyard is huge, but was basically bare and Kayla spent the day out calling "Bella" in the yard, like she was just not able to see her.

I walked the neighborhood for a few days and looked for her through fences in the alley and I did here a goat, but ended up being a Pygmy down the block.

She loved that little goat. It chased her on her trike and followed her around. She'd get tickled when Bella would run along side her and jumo in the air. Two weeks before Bill died he showed up at the poultry auction where I used to walk every monday and took Kayla to the livestock auction next door to buy her a goat. They showed back up and he said he wasn't feeling good, but I should take her and buy one for her. Had just got done bidding on one that was more than I wanted to spend and the next was coming out when he called and said to wait till our other house closed. With him gone there was no way I could buy a house, so still no goat.

Kayla used to crack us up. She'd say she wanted to buy a goat so she could feed it and water it and eat it, cause it tastes like chicken!" LOL I teased her about eating Bella and she hugged her neck and said "Not Bella, another goat! We have to get an ugky goat to eat." Bill laughed so hard when she did that. She likes to watch them load the livestock into the buyers, trucks, trailers and yep, even backseats of cars, and I ask her if she sees any ugly ones, but she never does.

Who knows. Maybe some day, she'll get her goat but for now all I hear is her and Dakotah asking to buy a farm and get horses for them. Man the sound like me.

Awww, sounds lovely!!! I have those kinds of memories with mine too. We loved camping and hiking. Once we went on a two week long camping trip. We spent a week in Canada and then 5 days in Northern Calif. in the Giant Redwoods. Great trip just me and the two kiddos (before Steve and I got married). It was the best trip ever!

This area called Red Rock is because the major road is Red Rock Road. The road does get it's name from some beautiful Red Rocks but you have to head to the north end of the road to ever see them. For a while after we moved here I had no idea why the road was named Red Rock. I just hadn't traveled far enough north.

But they do not come any where close to the Red Rock Area down there.

Tyler we are always either too chatty for you or too quiet.

Kim, no link? K, I'll do it later when I get done with errands. I can't believe how many animals get stolen where you live! When I was a kid, my Uncle Ben lived in Modesto and we used to visit him all the time! It was the quietest little town way back then! Loved those visits.

Yea..... uh, No. I'm trying to break that habit of chatting away late into the night. My new dog likes to get me up bright and early and I need to start getting some sleep.

You'll have to hit the recent posts instead. I'm going to bed soon. Unless Aubrey or someone else is up?

Sunny I just came in to add the link. Thanks for doing it and I hope you all come by and say hi and chat.

OK, I'm marking quail eggs and they have to be set before midnight. Took my daughter to look for houses today and now I feel worse than I did this morning. Haven't even checked pen to see if more eggs are out there yet, so I better do that. Hope there's more. I have 64, so I'll be excited if they were nice to me today.

Anyone need quail? LOL
