Nevadans?

I'll keep my eyes peeled to see if there are any great deals up this way Daniel. Red Rock Realty is a small company with a more down to earth approach. You might like them. It's a great idea to take your time though and gather tons of info but I can just see how happy your family would be on some acreage. If any one needs it you all do! Good luck!

Lacey so happy to hear your little chick is doing better! Hope you get some food in 'em.

Ron I'm guessing you'd have to buy new racks.

I googled the manufacturer but that was it. Seems a new unit base price is 650.

Better price than the fancy one I have my eye on. It's only $1,500.

I know, I know, that's one of Jeff Foxworthy's criteria for "You might be a redneck if...".

Well, you do almost have a redneck name - the two-name thing! 'Course, it really should be something like Bobbie Sue, or Billie Joe.

I can see myself with a name like that! I do come from VERY blue collar stock! I also loved Ellie-May Clampett when I was a kid. OMG maybe that's where the facination with critters comes from!!!

5!!!

Ron did I hear you say you were in your 50s at the picnic? I must have heard wrong cause you look like a kid still! Ok like my kid brother anyway (who is 12 years younger than I).

BTW how did we ever get so close to 6000 posts already! I never thought of Nevadans as chatty folks!

4! hee hee

Seriously it does kinda blow my mind. Where are all the Southern Nevada folks? I think one of them deserves the 6000 post (I know Ron, your finger is just itching to hit the submit button again)!

Who's gonna beat Ron to it?!! The suspense is killing me!

Or laceynoelle. ^^
I need to get an incubator for next year. Or make one. :]
He still hasnt eaten, but he's doing a bit better still. It has to be the fluffiest chick ever, he cant die. Just because of that, he shall live!! (Fingers crossed)

Ive been thinking..what do you all think about this idea? Instead of buying property and a house, Im considering buying a house, and a lot. Some houses are cheap, and lots w/o houses are really cheap. But when theyre put together, theyre really expensive. I mean, it wont happen tomorrow, but if i fenced it in really well and had a livestock dog, then chickens and goats, and whatever else should be okay. And then eventually (hopefully) I could get a house on the lot with the animals, and sell the other house. I know this is a stretch, but Im trying to plan everything out. Is it a good idea? Its more feasible then the others.

Oh right..3

You might have to feed that little chick with an eyedropper (just place liquid food on the tongue don't try to put the food in his throat). If he's not eating or drinking he won't make it and I do have a soft spot in my heart for super fluffy butts!

As far as a separate house and lot, I'm not an expert but it seems like you'd need water, at least, on the lot to keep critters and that is one of the big hurdles to putting your own house up on that lot (for small electric loads you can buy a small solar panel). Also it would make me nervous to be so far away from my animals in case of emergency.

You can get a small manufactured home for a lot less and that would be fine til you can save money to build something a little bigger. I'm with Penturner on this subject. If more of us lived below our means we'd be in better shape so it's smart of you to be looking at different alternatives and planning now.

two-hoo!!!
