Sunny my first football game was a Rams game, too, and I also loved it! But Robinson was so stubborn - he would stick with his game plan to the bitter end even when it was obvious to everyone that it wasn't working.

I know, I know! I don't have a leg to stand on in defense of my love for the Rams. I just feel so sorry for them!

) anyday!!! I was really hoping for Denny Hamlin, He's my man, but I dont think he's gonna make it this year.

Sunny, math sucks. I understand it and all, but I hate it. Universal language? Music. All day long.

I love Harvick! I can't wait for Johnson to finally not win the title. I also like Rainbow Warrior Jeff Gordon. I cannot stand Tony Stewart though, I hope he never wins. I like Robbie Gordon as well, he is an excellent road course driver and I'm hoping he wins either Sonoma or Watkins Glen someday. But all in all my favorite is Carl. He just so

I don't like short tracks at all, the bigger the track the better the race. I like Kansas City Speedway, it's got a very nice track. Talladega being the biggest banked track is a huge favorite. Daytona is always there as well.

Oh am I talking too much about Nascar? Not sure if anyone has noticed or not but I sure do like Nascar!

*sigh* Well, after watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind as a kid I got into studying more than the "equations" end of math.
I started to say (just now) that we have no idea if music is universal or not. We do know it is a world-wide language for us. But since music and math are so closely related (you can't have music without counts and flow and crecendos and... well you get the idea) that that thought made no sense.

I know this is beyond what you get in High School (good grief is it no wonder we hate high school? With the dry, dry, boring textbook crud they feed into us?) but without math then music doesn't exist, art doesn't exist etc, etc. It's like when my students used to say they hated chemistry! I would always say but you can't hate chemistry without hating yourself or your loved ones. Without hating a flower or enjoying a delicious cake! I mean chemistry is everything around us, it is us!

Sorry as you can tell I was a pretty passionate teacher. I so loved to hear my students say, "Mrs. Miller we hated science before you became our teacher! Now we love it!" Not just because it validated my teaching methods but because I could see excitment and fire from students that were previously bored out of their minds! I mean it's a crime that we teach children to learn the way we do. Stuffing them full of boring data and expecting them to regurgitate it for a test never to be remembered again!

It's sad really!

My goal as a teacher was to foster an interest in these subjects that would last a lifetime. Not to see how fast I could stuff them full of facts so I could qualify for more Government funds. I may not have covered subjects as fast as the regular curriculum teachers had to but my students remembered and enjoyed what they learned in my class.
