Its plausible. The earth thing. Then math has a goo chance of being universal, assuming their life is anything like ours. They could have discovered some horribly complex math nonsence we havent thought of (dont say we've thought of everything math related already)...or other life forms can be a few cells. And since youre a teacher, I will say that math is useful.. Im sorry, I tried, I just cant bring myself to say I actually like it.

But can you see it from my point, knowing its useful and acknowledging that it has the potential to be interesting, but just not liking it?

Ron I never knew about that grass, I need to tell my mom. ^^

Of course I can Hon. I don't expect to convert everyone.

To clarify I think it implausible that even extremely advanced aliens are zipping around visiting us non-stop. Unless they have found out how to avoid the whole "can't travel faster than light speed thing". But yes if life exists on other planets, many are most likely bacterias and other more basic forms of life. Just not discounting the possibility that we aren't the only "advanced" life forms in the universe.

Aubrey what cute pics! He's a character for sure!

Ron did you find the link where we can buy some seeds? I am all excited about the grass seed! I want a calf sooo bad (I'm sooo tired of what qualifies as quality beef around here).

OK, this is a bulletin from the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension service called A Homeowner's Guide to Planting Crested Wheatgrass.

Here are some places that sell wheatgrass seeds:

Bailey Seed Company

Sharp Bros. - look for Hycrest and Nordan varieties (as explained in the UNCE Bulletin).

Genny, I have been known to spin a tall tale or two.

After all, this is the desert, big country that most "city folk" don't know anything about. So it just comes naturally!

But not this time... It's worth the drive to Eureka to check up on me, though. Some beautiful country out there!

Ok, now I just need someone to go in on a 50 lb bag with me. They sell it in smaller quantities but charge $5 more per bag if you want them to split a 50lb bag. I need about 10lbs which will be $47.50 ($4.75 per lb at the 50lb rate but will have to pay $52.50 to get 10 lbs only). It says that it has a multi-year shelf life if kept cool and dry so it can be used for years to come. Bailey is a wholesale company only and when I checked the online Distributer that sells their seed they only had a premixed "wildgrass blend" so Sharp Bros. is the place to get it. I will check online tomorrow for any other stores that may have it. Right now I'm pooped!

Aubrey how are the goats doing?

Tyler did your little boy make it?

K, gonna go read all this stuff I just printed out on the subject of crested wheatgrass. Night all!

Hi All,
I'm a chicken raising newbie from here in Reno and I'm looking forward to learning all things 'chicken' from the Nevada BYC Gurus. SunnyDawn, you can add me to your list. Ok, to business. I'm ordering 3 RIR and 3 BR ( I want to start small to work out all the major bugs) and want to know if they should be vaccinated at the hatchery or just raised on medicated starter. Also, what's the best feed store in the Reno area to do business with. Customer service, knowledgable staff, product availability, and fair prices are my criteria. As I am just getting started, any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone
