I've seen them both perform and although I enjoyed the Thunderbirds I like the Blue Angels the best. They used to be based out of Moffett Airfield in Palo Alto, CA and sometimes, on special occasions, they would fly over The Stick a few times before a game. The announcer always built up the anticipation but it wasn't really neccessary. You could feel the vibration building for ages it seemed before they would finally get there! It was super exciting!!! We would all hoop and holler and wave to the pilots! A couple of times guys dropped from parachutes out of another plane right before the Angels showed up. They put on an awesome show! Made my heart pound a mile a minute.
It makes me sick to think that folks are so insensitive about what others are going through right now but I think people have been like that for a very long time. Social media has just given them new venues to express their lack of humanity.

Hey I lived in Stockton for years! Really liked it there but it was a little light on enough entertainment for a young person (which I was then).
Big town but most of the folks still had to drive to Sac for live music and stuff. Now I hear Sac is drying up too. Their's a new Cal tax on all venues that they say is causing so many businesses to fail but it's probably more than just that. DH and I aren't doing anything tonight. In fact He's already crashed for the night. We were gonna go to the dance but he twisted his ankle last weekend and it still isn't 100%.
The only reason I will go to CA right now is to show and ever since they past a new bill I'm not really comfertable[sp] going to shows there.

Really? I've always been facinated by planes! I worked at a flying club for awhile and I actually got to fly a plane once when things were pretty slow! That was the thrill of a lifetime but it's a long story so I'll spare you the details! Would love, love, love to do it again!!!
Sorry the shows aren't as much fun for you in California as they used to be.
Ok, read the link. That's been around for awhile now and, trust me, there are two sides to that story.

I know. I haven't shown in CA yet but I don't want to have to worry about my animals being taking

Oh they wouldn't be taken. Showing animals is not what this bill was about. Most people who are upset by that law are the small farmers and ranchers that were not part of the problem but are still being punished by too much legislation. It does stop the sale of butchered meat unless you are a commercial establishment and the sale of animals unless you are at a legitimate address.
It started when these "puppy mills" started popping up everywhere. These people would sell puppies that were sick from being kept in horrible conditions and they moved around so much that authorities couldn't trace them but they kept finding these animals crammed into tiny cages by the dozens and living in their own feces but they could never make charges stick because the folks making money off of these puppy mills would disappear before anyone could serve a warrant. The practice spread from puppies to other animals as well and also "tainted" meat that was being sold caused problems.
Unfortunately the bill was worded badly and not specifically aimed at only these folks and a lot of folks that were affected by it were never a problem in the first place. I mean we used to raise animals with several neighbors and we would all raise one type of animal but then get together for a huge slaughter where we would bring our animals and share what we had and they would do the same. Made for a very efficeint use of resources. Well technically that would be illegal now that this bill has passed. We weren't selling them but the law sees trade as a form of buying and selling as well.
California does like to regulate everything! That and the high taxes are two of the reasons we are living here now.
we have enjoyed seeing the planes fly over our house over the years. some of those show groups have come really close. We have never gone to the air races, though.
Well, i had one little barred rock with pasty butt this a.m. but I cleaned her up and hopefully she will be ok. I checked everyone else and they are fine.
Soccer game is coming up at 11. I am going to cut a few studs before we leave.
