Really? I've always been facinated by planes! I worked at a flying club for awhile and I actually got to fly a plane once when things were pretty slow! That was the thrill of a lifetime but it's a long story so I'll spare you the details! Would love, love, love to do it again!!!
Sorry the shows aren't as much fun for you in California as they used to be.
Ok, read the link. That's been around for awhile now and, trust me, there are two sides to that story.
I know. I haven't shown in CA yet but I don't want to have to worry about my animals being taking
Oh they wouldn't be taken. Showing animals is not what this bill was about. Most people who are upset by that law are the small farmers and ranchers that were not part of the problem but are still being punished by too much legislation. It does stop the sale of butchered meat unless you are a commercial establishment and the sale of animals unless you are at a legitimate address.
It started when these "puppy mills" started popping up everywhere. These people would sell puppies that were sick from being kept in horrible conditions and they moved around so much that authorities couldn't trace them but they kept finding these animals crammed into tiny cages by the dozens and living in their own feces but they could never make charges stick because the folks making money off of these puppy mills would disappear before anyone could serve a warrant. The practice spread from puppies to other animals as well and also "tainted" meat that was being sold caused problems.
Unfortunately the bill was worded badly and not specifically aimed at only these folks and a lot of folks that were affected by it were never a problem in the first place. I mean we used to raise animals with several neighbors and we would all raise one type of animal but then get together for a huge slaughter where we would bring our animals and share what we had and they would do the same. Made for a very efficeint use of resources. Well technically that would be illegal now that this bill has passed. We weren't selling them but the law sees trade as a form of buying and selling as well.
California does like to regulate
everything! That and the high taxes are two of the reasons we are living here now.
