Nevadans?

Glad you got some sleep. I don't sleep w/o Ambien. Use to keep me asleep all night but my back wakes me up about every 4 hours for pain pills, but at least I sleep.

I babysat my 4 month old grandson & 3 yr old granddaughter a couple of months ago. Didnt take my sleeping pill cause of the babies....so needless to say I was up all night. Went into work the next day but had to call an employee in to relieve me! I could hardly function!

thanks! I gave up on the boot since they kept falling off. It seems that it wasn't what she needed anyway.

Sunny, sorry you're still having insomnia at night but

on the nap!

Today I have gotten the windows cut out along with the nest box door, a clean out door, the pop doors and some vents up high. My brilliant idea to just put wire over the gable ends is not panning out. Rain came in there so I am going to put siding over that but try to fit two gable vents on each end to still maintain lots of ventilation. The vents i put in up high on the sides will be closable. I am covered in sawdust. Jose took the kids to a birthday party a little while ago so I have some peace and can actually get something done without interruption (just taking a brief BYC break, I promise

Now to figure out what to tackle next. Have a good one!

Yay sunny! And good job Elizabeth!

So crud, I just ordered white crested black polish, white crested blue polish, red polish, sultans, red frizzles, and buff silkies.

...oops.

Aubrey!!! Heck yeah, show us pics when they come!
Elizabeth, good job with the chick.

Tyler, will do,
and Sunny, thanks for the info!! Do you know if I could let Buck get them? We dont have raccoons in Lemon Valley (Im pretty sure) But theyre really versatile from the sounds of it, so Im just bidding my time. He'll get them if I let him, but will he get diseases off of them? Im also kinda worried about them hurting him. He got in a couple coyote fights, but they run off in a few seconds if it looks like theyre going to loose. Raccoons sound meaner. Im going to fix the coop as well, but I'd like to have extra protection per se.

Yea my doctor keeps asking me about trying something like Ambien but I got a perscription for a very very weak sleeping pill (I'm a total lightweight) and they worked at first but didn't after awhile. The doctor said that is normal and that I would probably build up a resistance to anything over time. IDK that sounds like a slippery slope to me.

I'm a little paranoid because of some family history but DH keeps pointing out how unhealthy so little sleep is...
*sigh* I can't decide what to do. How long have you been taking Ambien? Do you have any of the sleep walking issues I keep hearing about?

Well.....I'm a lifetime sleepwalker, talker. My family and husband could tell you stories that will entertain you for hours....Ambian keeps me quietly in bed. I wake up feeling like I had a good nights sleep.

Your husband is right, it's way unhealthy to not sleep. They say Ambien isnt addictive and there are times I go to sleep w/o it but my pretty little head just won't shut up! So I can spend all night working in my head or get some much needed sleep.

Oh, and I started taking it 3 years ago when my 40 yr old brother was dying from cancer. He didn't want to be alone at night so I stayed up with him until he could sleep, and then I couldn't. Not that it wasn't an issue for me before but it was "time sensitive" then.

You need to sleep. Get something to get you doing that!

I tell myself that all the time. You obviously have no problem getting a ton of work done. Great job so far!

Chicken math strikes again!

Lacey I don't know what part of Lemon Valley you are in but yes they have them there. I saw a HUGE one once when we lived out there. We lived very close to a large pond though. Buck will probably scare them away. The story about the black lab was scary because it's so unusual. Usually a large dog will scare a racoon away. Racoons starting to hunt in packs is also unusual but animals will adapt when food gets scarce. If you've never had a problem then Buck is doing his job or you don't have the right conditions in your immediate area to support a population of racoons.

As far as any local populations carrying disease I'm afraid you would need to contact the county agency that handles wildlife control for our area for an answer to that question. Don't call the businesses that charge for their services, they will tell you all kinds of stories meant to alarm you so you will pay them anything to avoid problems. Aubrey probably has the number of who to call.

Doesn't sound like a mistake to me! We will be your enablers any time. Can't wait to see photos. I need to go look up a picture of sultans. Haven't heard of that before.

Sunny, hope you find something that works for you.

Oh, thank you Pam! It is so heart warming to see you all concerned about me! Most of the time I have exactly the same issue. My brain just doesn't shut up! Now I get some fantastic ideas at 3 in the morning but I could do a lot more with this creative brain if I were rested. Ok I need to go see my doc anyway, I am past due for my annual checkup, so I'll talk to her about this issue again.

Thanks again everybody! You all are so sweet!

Cool, thanks Sunny. I live in the Arizona/Tupelo/Waterash/Sitka (those are all the roads I can think of right now) section, but Ive never seen one. The closest water is the dry lake. My mom gave me this french thing for sleeping once. I dont remember the name, but I'll ask her tomorrow if youre interested. Its all natural too, but it relaxes you more than lets you sleep. It didnt really work well for me, but I might for you. You never really know until you try, right?

We are kinda enablers for eachother, huh?
