I will try to get a couple this afternoon. Busy lately so don't be shy about reminding me. I a little surprised my daughter hasn't already gotten some of the chicks. So far still only two. But we skipped a day between the last two also.

Sooo..does anyone here think their "All black or all white cats" are going to be sacrificed or somthing during halloween? Im just kinda laughing at all the nervous paraniod people on CL, but my mom heard a bunch of horror stories at work and now she's making us keep our cat Cajun in. He's really depressed. I think shes just jumping on the bandwagon. Am I worng? Does this happen?
ETA: sorry, spelling. Meh.
ETA Agian: haha, 48

Haven't heard any of it but even if it was a non-issue before the rantings on CL may have put the idea out there. I agree with your Mom better safe than sorry. The cat would probably be fine but if it doesn't hurt anything to be cautious (other than a bored and antsy cat) why not keep him inside?

On the safe thing. I just dont see it happening, but some people are seriously wacked. He's sitting by the door just staring at me with his ears back and Im like "hmmm. Cant help you buddy." I didnt know if he was like mad at me so I petted him and he started purring, but now he's back at the door. Yup. Anyway.

At the begining of October there were people on Craigslist warning everyone not to get rid of their all black or all white cats, and if you owned one to keep it indoors because supposedly there are Satanists that use halloween to sacrifice cats to the devil or somthing. Then there were arguments and stuff in the pets section, it was total chaos. Religion was even called into it, and there were a lot of reeaallllyy angry people.
It makes no sense to me, because halloween isnt that kind of holiday. Its a fun holiday in all cultures, so I dont know where people got this idea. Hispanics have 'dia de la morte' and its like some sort of celebration of the family members that passed away (I think? Elizabeth?). Even people who are 'witches' (Pagans, right?) use the holiday for spiritual nearness, to communicate w/ family and stuff. I totally googled this stuff, so I do have to put the other end too.

Shelters and the SPCA say they really watch which cats and dogs they adopt out during october, but they mentioned it was a just in case thing. And then there's the case in Fernly my mom heard about where two teenagers got convicted and sent to prison for setting an all black cat on fire for halloween. I dont remember, but I think she said they got 15 years because the judge was really angry. But this wasnt documented online so Idk if its legit or gossip.
So thats what I know, someone else might have somthing to throw in.

This makes me sad and i do not think anyone will be targeting black cats.

alright things are about to get reallllly contriveral with how you all see me butttt....

one of my best friends is a satanist. As a child she was the daughter of a preacher and saw all kind of ugly things that went on with the church and just ended up going the other way with it. I dont want to get to heavily into her beliefs or whatever but she is a satanist and her beliefs are absolutely harmless. She doesnt do freaky rituals, she doesnt kill things, and she is 100% THE sweetest person i have ever known. She doesnt gossip, doesnt treat people like garbage, isnt strange, and has never hurt an animal in her life.
there is a difference between being a satanist and being a total nutjob sicko.
if you have a total nutjob sicko running around your neighborhood then its probably safe to say that these things could happen any time of the year.

Sorry Aubrey but I don't see you any differently, was something suppose to happen all of a sudden? Lights start blinking around me? Strange noises coming out of the walls? IDK, nothing happened? But you're still a beautiful person!
