Just went on the USGS and there were actually 4 in the last hour. 2 of them were only 1s. I felt a small one that subsided quickly followed almost immediately by a larger one. This last one was around a 4. something (takes a bit to pinpoint the exact magnitude). It was centered south of Portola which explains why the North Valleys folks felt it.

weird, ive been sitting here reading scary stories and havent felt a thing. probably for the best. If the house would have started shaking during that last spooky story i may have literally died of my heart exploding.

Let your baby hang with Aubrey's, and let your hen set on like four eggs for a trial broody period. That way next spring you'll know or not if she's a good mama and everything. Having a broody hatch her own is cool too, because then you get to see the cute fuzzy little results of her dedication.

Oh my gosh Aubrey - perhaps this might work? Perhaps you can bring a couple of your babies to my house and she can raise like 3 of them and then I can bring them to you when she's donw? IDK but it sounds good in my head anyways and she gets a chance to raise them. And you know they would get lots of loving too.

Oh man Aubrey, I can't believe you didn't feel that thing. It actually woke me up, my windows and bed shook really good. I lifted my head up with my eyes closed and said earthquake and put my head back down. Then I opened my eyes and thought perhaps it was a dream so I woke my DH up and said how big was the earthquake, his phone always tells him when there's an earthquake within 8 miles from our house because of the earthquake swarms we were having 2 years ago. He said, when was an earthquake and I said about 5 minutes ago didn't you feel it? He said nope must have been sleeping. He looked at his phone and there wasn't anything reported so I told him to look it up then and find out because it felt like it was a really good size one somewhere. When he looked it up the USGS said it was right near Whitehawk and it was 4.?.

You sure you weren't moving at that time Aubrey? I often hear people say they can't feel them when they are moving around. I was watching a friend cross the road once when a quake hit and it knocked her off her feet but when I rushed to help her up and said "Wow, that was a nice little jolt", she looked at me confused. I said "The quake just now, the one that knocked you over." She said that she didn't feel the quake she just thought she had tripped! I've heard tons of stories like these.
