Thank you everyone for all the advice! Kim what you suggested was exactly what the experts said on the web. Apparently the way we did it was exactly what they say to never do.
They say to crate them and let them out at separate times. Today that is what we are doing and they are very calm and curious with each other now. Samson seems to be adopting a much more submissive stance which is what we expected since she is much older than he is.
I think the are going to be just fine. We will keep them separate but where they can smell and sometimes see each other for another week, then we will take them to a neutral place where they will be allowed to meet each other without crates/fences between them.
Oh and her call name was "Striker", which we hate, so we are teaching her to respond to "Delilah" now. She is already responding to it though so this is going to be an easy transistion.
