Nevadans?

Thank you everyone for all the advice! Kim what you suggested was exactly what the experts said on the web. Apparently the way we did it was exactly what they say to never do.

They say to crate them and let them out at separate times. Today that is what we are doing and they are very calm and curious with each other now. Samson seems to be adopting a much more submissive stance which is what we expected since she is much older than he is.
I think the are going to be just fine. We will keep them separate but where they can smell and sometimes see each other for another week, then we will take them to a neutral place where they will be allowed to meet each other without crates/fences between them.

Oh and her call name was "Striker", which we hate, so we are teaching her to respond to "Delilah" now. She is already responding to it though so this is going to be an easy transistion.

one thing we did with bogie and elvis was take a towel or blankie or shirt or something, rub one on each dog and then stick it in the others crate so they get used to eachothers scent...

Yes that was one of the things we found on the web that we did.

Thanks! It's nice to hear others confirm the same advice.

It was a couple of years ago. Him and elvis had a VERY hard time getting along. One night they had a fight in the kitchen- completely at random (bogie was on a ton of medication because he had a bazillion issues) and without thinking mark grabbed bogie because bogie had JUST had a knee operation and he didnt want bogie to rip out his staples and bogie accidentally bit off his finger trying to get at elvis. It was a really crazy night but mark could never look at bogie the same after that and i ended up sending him off to florida to live on a ranch with a friend of mine who specializes in problem BTs. he was totally a sweet boy, he just had some things wrong with his head. I will never EVER forget him. I miss him everyday and its been over two years since i gave him up. he was my cuddling dog. On his good days him and elvis were best friends.

sorry guys. This dog seriously had the biggest personality and the biggest heart. I constantly have to remind myself how much happier he is now and how wonderful his new mama is.
