Hey all! Ron I wish Steve and I could have watched we need to learn how to process birds as well. We are very interested in getting turkeys too. Maybe for next year. We need to buy a freezer and start buying straight from the local farms.

Seth that coop is perfect for 6 chickens! It would be a lot cheaper to build it though.

Sorry but wouldn't the asiatic birds (or anything outside of American standards) be part of the continental classes as well?

Don't take my word for it but I think continental is european and asiatic is asian

Hi, I've lived in Reno for 14 years. This is my first year owning urban chickens, though I grew up with chickens as a major food source in backwoods Idaho. We have 4 hens but are going to buy 10 more chicks in the spring.

I've noticed there are a LOT of Reno people on here.

We have quite a few folks on here that sell eggs if you have customers waiting. I used to but I am rebuilding right now and don't have any of laying age yet. I will be breeding Black Copper Marans this year and may have a pullet for sale this spring. I give a discount to local BYCers. Remind me in Spring and I'll see what I can do for you.
