Nevadans?

We started with 2 Delawares and 3 faverolles that we got from Green's Feed in April. One of the Delawares turned out to be a rooster, but the other doesn't quite rule the docile faverolles because she's outnumbered. In the spring we're going to concentrate on layers, but I'm going to get a silkie pullet just because I want one. Otherwise we want RI Reds, australorps, easter eggers, black copper marans (only one... those chicks are expensive!), wyandottes, a buff brahma, and a Plymouth rock. I already have four clients (I'm a massage therapist) asking to buy my extra eggs, but 4 hens isn't quite enough for our family yet.

I'm a mile from downtown, in the old southwest (now Midtown.) I swear there's at least one house keeping chickens every 3 blocks in this neighborhood.

I started in old southwest (on nixon) and once i realized how much i enjoyed these chickens i moved to a bigger property, so now im more north. I like to think i pioneered that neighborhood to start chickening! (but then again, i am terribly full of myself.) I have two silkie chicks right now that i am thinking i may not keep...

I will gladly buy one from you! If I get one from mypetchicken.com, they're $10 for a pullet plus shipping. I would like to get two, but don't want to pay $20 for two chicks with a 10% possibility of being roosters. I'll remind you in the spring... I'm sure I'll still be around.

Sunny I think im gonna look into metal sheds. do you know the cons of them? I imagine they get really hot/cold...idk. i realy just wanna get the girls into a big shed instead of spending the money to finish the second smaller coop

If you decide you don't want them, I'll provide a good home. However, if they turn out to be roos, I'll have to rehome again.

well if its better for you then I can keep em until we know for certain

No problem! That is expensive. Especially when you add shipping!

This spring I am getting EEs and lavender ameraucanas. The first time I got ameraucanas I was more concerned with egg size. This time I am concentrating on temperment (egg color and size will probably suffer but that's ok). I'm hopin for more of Genny's orps too.

I can provide for them now... it'll give me a good focus until I can start gardening again. But I know that everyone has a different outlook on their babies and some want to find a permanent home. But I'm sure I can find a home for a silkie rooster.

If you do decide to rehome them, please let me know. I can pick them up.
