Ok now I'm even more confused. 2 years ago I wanted to host one of those Great American Bake Sales, that were going on all over the country (proceeds go to select charities in your area), they told me I needed to check to see if Nevada was one of those states that required the Certified Kitchen. I checked and several web-sites gave me the same answer which was "yes". I called the state and asked and they also said yes. I called a group in Nevada that issues operating permits to new farmer's markets and they also told "yes" but she said that many were pretty lax on this rule but all it takes is one person to complain and then they would shut you down. Well you would still be allowed to sell non-baked goods.
Can this really only apply to baked goods? Well since I don't have a certified kitchen to prep in either I guess it's a moot point. The Great American Bakesale folks said to try churches/senior centers etc but no body returned my calls. The gal in charge of the Booth St. market didn't return my call either. I hear a lot of Reno folks say the same thing, Renoites don't return phone calls.
Vegaschick, thanks! I like the coppery girls too!
