Nevadans?

LOL missy i sort of know what thats like. When we moved into our last house we had the power scheduled to come on on the DAY of move in. Well it never happened and it was a holiday weekend. It was April and we got to hang out in the house for four days with no heat or power of anykind. can you say 20 degree bedroom?

Glad to hear there are a lot of campers on here! Love the bucket with the toilet seat idea Ron! Don't do a lot of camping these days but I will be borrowing that idea!

Missy we lived in San Joaquin Valley in 1986 when California had those horrendous floods and even though we did not have to evacuate we did not have clean water for a few days! It was horrible! The water rose to the top step leading to our front door and sewage climbed up the drains in the bath tub and the shower. Being from the Bay Area and used to earth quakes we had a supply of drinking water set aside so we were fine there but a solar shower doesn't do you a lot of good when there is no sun to heat it.

There is a huge wind energy company at the Altamont Pass between Tracy CA and Livermore. It has been extremely successful.

Seth what's the hold up on that coop?

I love camping!! I'm pretty sure of it. The only time I went was in the red woods, I was like six and I woke up in the morning and it had rained on me, and I still want to do it agian! lol I figured if that hadnt set me off of it, I probably like it.

You know, when you read a book about an old dog, you can guess how its ending. It sucks.

What's the name of the book?

That's one thing I miss a lot. We used to have huge camping trips with large groups of friends and now they are all older (or dead) and no one goes anymore.

I have a few chickens that would probably be fun to take camping...We camp alot, and plan on doing it way more this year. We have a Motorhome and I have my beloved little 69' travel trailer. We also have tents, but with little kids, campers are way easier!

I am going to disney world next week after that we will get a coop. aubrey you will have to hold her tell i get my coop is that ok or should i wait tell she has friends? Missy is bringing me so ameracauna chicks and i couild get her then

Yep Seth thats fine. I plan on segregating my new silkies so she can hang out with them.

Ugh, yesterday I was spreading straw in the backyard when I heard all of my girls freak out, in a split second I look over to see them all running and a hawk swooping down. He pulled up about three feet from the ground. He was small and barred. He flew to a nearby telephone pole for about thirty seconds before flying off. I could t believe it. I hope I don't have another thing to worry about.

On top of that Gilbert has been crowing like crazy. He starts at five and doesn't shut up ALL DAY. I don't think he will last long. Someday we will have a PERFECT rooster.
