Yep Seth thats fine. I plan on segregating my new silkies so she can hang out with them.

Ugh, yesterday I was spreading straw in the backyard when I heard all of my girls freak out, in a split second I look over to see them all running and a hawk swooping down. He pulled up about three feet from the ground. He was small and barred. He flew to a nearby telephone pole for about thirty seconds before flying off. I could t believe it. I hope I don't have another thing to worry about.

On top of that Gilbert has been crowing like crazy. He starts at five and doesn't shut up ALL DAY. I don't think he will last long. Someday we will have a PERFECT rooster.

that's scary (the hawk) . We have a lot out this way which is why we're building a run and covering the top with wire, too. sorry about Gilbert. too bad he's so loud.

Thanks Sunny! It will be my last baby for sure. I suffer from terrible Morning Sickness(24 hours to be exact). We already named her Sunova (Sa-nova). Now Im just waiting to pass the time.Hatching eggs will probably make it seem like even longer as I stare in the bator every day with my nose pressed on the glass. Oh well. My eggs ship out Tuesday, just hope the post office doesnt kick em around too much before I get em.

When I lived in Downtown Reno a few years ago, there was a pair of Hawks who raised their young every year in that tall tree just near Martin and plumas, before the park. The nest is huge and really noticable. The young were clumsy and sometimes landed in our yard. They were lacking in red color at that point. I was once driving on Plumas st with my Boyfriend when we got Shat on by one of the adults. At first I thought someone hit my truck with a milkshake so I pulled over ready to yell at some kids, only to find out it was a hawk sized broody poo! I think we even took a picture of it.It covered 1/4 of my windshield!

Oh my gosh Aubrey! Last Sunday as we walked to the backyard we had a hawk swooping down on the birds. Everyone was in the corner of the yard hunkering down. I don't know how long it was harassing them but it left once it saw us. It was very small and I only saw the back end of it but it was a red tail hawk for sure. It hasn't been back since so perhaps it was the same one that went after your chickens.

I think it was after Sundae since she's the smallest chicken I have. It was strange, John saw it too and he asked what was that and I said a hawk. He said will eat the chickens and I said yes, it could take Sundae but not the rest unless it killed them in the yard and ate them there would be the only way. He wasn't happy to hear that.

I was wondering if it was juveniles too. They would have different coloring than the adults. Hey all! At least chicken poops aren't the size of a milkshake!

Oh I feel for you! I was that way with my first one only. I weighed like 98 lbs when I got pregnant with her and only gained like 8 lbs the first 6 months and I was horribly dehydrated. I couldn't even keep water down most of the time. They were gonna put me in the hospital full-time to feed me through tubes but the doctor tried Bendectin first. It was amazing stuff! It worked like a charm! I gained 30 more lbs after that and no more morning sickness.

Good luck with the hatch!
