Nevadans?

Hey guys. Sunny Im lovin the fruit stand talk, that was a a great letter

Thank you! I like the idea of a fruit stand here at home better than the Farmers market. I can sell my eggs and any extra produce I have a couple times a week for 15 weeks. Plus I can take advantage of my neighbors crops if they do the same thing! Like one of our neighbors has a peach tree with the most delicious peaches! I know others have fruits and veggies available that I don't. When I was younger these small stands were everywhere! We would wait most of the year for some of these things to ripen and out would come the card tables set up with boxes of delicious fruits! You could smell the strawberries and pears almost a block away. OK I'm making myself hungry and I have none of these delicacies around to eat...

OMG I just realized how close we are to the 10,000th post!!! Jeeeez! After that the count goes to every ten thousand posts so this may be the last milestone we get to celebrate for awhile! I don't know why I love the idea of this so much! OK who will get there first?!! No cheating on this one. No double posts etc. Oh the anticipation is building!!!!!

I think this one should be made more interesting... OK, whoever gets to 10,000 posts first wins one of my new pullets. You choose the breed but I choose the chick. It can be one of the Wheaten Ameraucanas, One of the new little WCB polish, or an EE or an Olive egger (my choice). Or maybe a couple of yokohama eggs to hatch instead. You may even wait until the yakohama eggs hatch to decide from which of these 4 breeds you would like a chick. If you choose to wait to decide only the yokohamas will still be small chicks. The others will be started chicks by then and mostly feathered. So a decision would have to be made within four weeks or you lose the prize.
Remember no double posts! Here we go!!!

I'll see your bet and match it! Whoever gets the 10,000th post gets a 1-hour massage at my office (If you live in the area.)

Although I really want to win a pullet... 10,000 will probably be hit before I log back on in the morning. Goodnight!

I don't know about that. I'm pooped and going to bed too. I'll find out who won tomorrow afternoon most likely. I've got a busy day tomorrow. Good night and good luck!

I had planned to order a few sebastapol geese gosling and call ducks ducklings through the mail with in the next couple of weeks. However If there is a local breeder in the reno area I would much more prefer to buy here. Im just looking for pet quality..something I can go into my backyard and feed that makes me smile. If not I will be placing a order with johnsons waterfowl and if anybody is intrested in sharing a order pls let me know. They carry runner ducks, crested ducks, cuyaga ducks, and few other breeds I cant recall just yet, plus sebastapols, pomerianian, buff and I believe arfican. They are very affordable as im looking to pay between $5-8 per call duckling and $35 for my sebastapol. And im hoping a shared order might help with body heat. Thank you

I was going to do something like this for 5,000 on the CA thread too. I have lots of time since we haven't made it to 1,500 posts yet.

I've checked back several times to see how fast the thread is going. Maybe people are lurking, ready to hit Reply when it's down to 2 or 1.

My furnace went out again at 5am this morning. We have an old oil-burning furnace, which has broken down 3 times since November. That's probably why my landlady asked me if I wanted to buy the house! It's bad enough we pay $350 a month for heating in the winter... she's probably outpaid our heating bill, just in repairs. It's the biggest downside to this property. Furnace guy can't come out until this afternoon... so it's a space heater, lots of manual labor, and maybe a batch or two of cookies... I may have to cancel a client if it gets too cold.

BTW...

The silver ones are white and the gold ones are more yellow in their coloring.

Missy, sorry about your heater. I hope they can fix it for good.

It is what it is... a very old furnace in a very old house. I'm just hoping it doesn't break down next year. This year we got a reprieve on heating costs because of the weather. Yet another reason my spring dance this year is going to resemble Riverdance in its exhuberance.
