Nevadans?

I hope it works out for you. I'm excited about the Jaerhons. I'd never heard of the breed til Elizabeth mentioned she was getting some. Then, of course, I had to do a search on them...

OK I can't sleep and I am obsessing about 10ths of a degree on the bator (which is totally retarded) so I was going through my old email and came across this cartoon.

for a good hatch, Sunny!

Feels like Christmas Eve and Santa's bringing chicks! The eggs I gave Sunny are at 21 days tommorow! Can't wait to see what she gets!
Looks like things have quieted down around here as far as chicks. Anyone have any coming soon?
Yep, as Missy and Sunny mentioned, we have an ideal order coming about April 13. I'm getting the Norwegian Jaerhons--that was the original purpose of my order-- along with blue chochins, speckled sussex, blue silkies, and I'm probably forgetting something else.

Do you think they're going to get here around then? Maybe we can do Easter baskets a week late, if we're going to have ducklings around that time.

Sunny, keep us updated!!!

PSST Sunny, wake up! How many chicks do we have?
lol.png

Hahaha! I'm up. Just finished chores. Well, chores are never finished but the animals are taken care of anyway.

We have 1 little black Polish out (he woke me up this morning with his loud peeping so I'm assuming boy) and 4 more eggs pipped!!! 2 of those are Polish as well. The frst little one is running around and cheeping at all the other eggs to hurry up, so now I just need to sit on my hands so I don't stick my mitts in there and mess up the humidity at this crucial time.

OH! I just heard more peeping! Sounds like another has at least broken the membrane!!! Gotta go!

Based on this article:

http://dailysparkstribune.com/pages...eply=7458348&id=7457700#comment_reply_7458348

and my reading of the city code that it mentions here:

http://cityofsparks.us/municode/Title_20/29/040

that I am indeed out of luck - that most of Sparks it is illegal to have chickens, except maybe as a "pet" but then they must be kept inside - and that's not really doable for me.

Next step: writing my city council person and the mayor to get this revised.

What a shame...

Awww that is a shame. But I bet you could get a lot of signatures on a petition to get it revised!
