Nevadans?

I'm in on the cow thingy. I should be able to help a bit but not a lot. I can do my best but I worry about the times of the milking.

I am actually learning how to do feather earrings! I went to the bead shop last week and she sat down with me for 2 hours making some. It was a lot of fun! I would like to get some of the small crimps though. She did not have those in stock. When my birds molt I collect the feathers (for friends in the past but now I will for me) and I have even let a friend cut a few hackle feathers off one of my boys.

You know, this is the life! I'm sitting here eating fresh homemade yogurt, mixed with boysenberry jam made from my berries last year. This is why we do what we do! The only way this would be better is to have yogurt made with fresh, organic, local milk! Hmmmm...

Wow, you have your own boysenberry plants? That's my favorite berry! Where did you get them? Are they difficult to grow?

Does anyone do crafts with feathers? Though, if you do, I figure there's no shortage of pretty feathers around here. If we have to eat Blue, maybe someone will want his feathers for a craft. Maybe those long hipster earrings that are trendy right now? I wonder how many people who wear those are vegetarians and think the birds gave those feathers up voluntarily.
A friend of mine is always asking me for feathers. He has a fly fishing accessories website, and he says chicken feathers are great for fly tying.

LOL The bait shop is also a great place to buy feathers cheap. Maybe we should start selling our feathers to these shops.

Woo hoo! Mandy it looks like we might have enough folks to do this!!!

Ron you know I want to raise a couple of calves. The only reason I didn't do this already is because this place was being sold. The new place has no fencing either. That is a huge cost!

I've been meaning to ask you: did you ever plant any crested wheatgrass at your current place?

The expense is what has kept me from finishing the fencing around my place. I really need to do it though. I guess step one is to figure out the exact cost and I can plan from there.

Sunny do you want the kind that you fold over. PM your address and I'll send you a few. I should have more coming in 3 weeks and can send you more then.

I didn't for 2 reasons. We had signed up for that Brush Mastication Project, that the state of NV is doing right now (to reduce fire danger), and I figured the tractors would just destroy the seeds and then I found out they were selling the place so that counted that out. The new place has already had the brush thinning done so I can plant it there much easier!!! The seed said that it can be planted anytime in spring as well as fall. But it will probably need some irrigation to thrive.
